I don't "need" a fresh air raised air intake. Until I do. I live in the desert. We have few paved roads. Our dirt roads have varying sizes of washes that occasionally fill with water. Some I can now cross, some not 😉. My intake is now higher than my alternator. And, it looks groovy.

Just got A/T installed I feel so much confident going off road of mud and rocks that spans a kilometer. I don't always go off road, so I took the A/T to handle road and a bit of off-road.

Can anyone please recommend a highly recommended tire for a Toyota Fortuner 2x4? I only drive long highways in the summer, especially in the Middle East. Please help.

The truth is, if you go off road a lot, as in more than 50%, buy an off road tire. If you live in areas where there is significant snowfall for six months out of the year, you should have a set of snow tires to switch to.

If doing 99% street and 1%off road ..then OK. I live on a coffee farm (hillside) 4x4 road only.. 2020 Jeep Compass Trail hawk with these BFG Trail Terrans..NO grip and many times no traction..DO NOT buy these tires if you are going off-roading.. I also own a Tacoma and tundra both have BFG A/T s…10 times better tires then the trail terrains..

Many thanks for your informative video. I'd be very grateful for your opinion on a cool air intake modification I'm thinking of making. I have a Hilux SW4 diesel 2008. The air filter is like a drum on the right and it receives air from under the wheel arch, which, even if the ill-fitting plastic liner with its fragile fasteners provided reasonable protection from dirt and rain thrown up by the wheel, I'd like to shift the air intake to inside the engine bay at the coolest, most protected spot. My idea is to block the orginal entry tube and fit another of the same diameter either forward to just behind the headlamp or at the right back corner of the engine compartment. Can you tell me which would be the cooler position and least likely to suck in dust and rain. Incidentally, I'm againt schnorkels for varios reasons, although they do look "sexy". I'd be extremely grateful for your expert advice on this project.

There's also an extra alternative for offroading to these tyres especially for winter, which I was intrigued by, but some people are really happy with them: - commercial vehicle rated winter tyres they are tougher than normal tyres- almost as tough as an A/T - they can handle lower psi, they are really good in the snow and they are really good in the wet compared to A/T or M/T. they have soft compound and may wear faster but if you're not doing alot of miles they can last as long as the rubber still has the optimal properties.

Every snorkel video explanation video I watch is so unhelpful including yours. Tell us what the max water line limit for it. How hard is it to give a snorkel information video. It ain't that hard! Maybe I should be a youtuber.

Every vehicle is different. Depending on you if you have a lift, every snorkel brand is different with different vents and different methods of being installed. The maximum height for your vehicle to be submerged should be stayed by manufacturer should not be above the bonnet, but that will depend on the vehicle variables which hopefully you have considered.

There is a wide variety of highways tyre types with different characteristics and compound .The standard tyres that came with my Hilux were worn out 20k earlier then the KO2 AT I had at the time. And the KM3 mud terrain were done by 60,000 km. All in all the good news we are spoilt for choice with a large variety of H/T ,A/T, M/T tyres out there depending on what you want to do.

That's a great tip!. Not sure with your car but the Nissan Navara under one back seat is the jack. Then under the second back seat is where the tongue and ball towbar kit is. That is where I keep my recovery rear point. I have just had recovery points installed on the front of the car. They said I should get a equaliser strap. But this morning on the internet I was reading. I can use the tree trunk guard strap as an equaliser strap. Have you heard of this

The traction control light doesn’t light in mines what could be the problem

Can be different with different model years. Generally can tell if it’s engaging by the fact that it has really short gear throws and tends to rev the engine in low range. If in doubt, consultant mechanic

It looks like the operator spooled the winch in rather than out. The rope had nowhere to go so that has probably striped out the gears. I would say looking at this video it is probably operator error rather than any fault of the winch.

hi, great video, for peugeot 5008 i am considering 2 tyres: Falken ZE310 98V 225/55R18 and הי, האוטו נרכש,מגיע בשני. מה העלות ל4 צמיגים : Yokohama Geolandar A/T G015 225/55R18 98HXL the cost is almost the same, driving around 10KM a year mostly on cities ,sometimes in the weekend going to off-road level entry trips.. my question is: in terms of longevity, fuel efficiency is there a big diffrence ? on 10,000 km yearly ? is there a big diffrence for braking in road?
@tlr4x4
@tlr4x4 Жыл бұрын
I haven’t used the Yokohama’s before so I can’t say exactly. However you’re probably going to get a similar performance result from both brands because the tyre sizes you’re looking at will be the same both brands. Grip will be a different question possibly.

Interesting... my Dominator has been in service 10yrs, maybe more. As i send this, im fitting another Dominator but 12000lb extreme this time. Only changing it because the spool is so rusted but it still works fine. Cant tell you how many times this winch has been submerged, at times for very extended durations. Its literally saved my life a dozen times. Ill strip the old one as a matter of curiosity

greetings from Florence Italy good evening I have a legitimate question if possible you can give me the correct answer (good morning can you tell me why many owners of 4x4 par time vehicles are called 4wd low in English? wet asphalt when it rains they insert the 4x4 hello the fast 4x4 since many 4x4 vehicles do not have a center differential??)

A kings dominator winch only needs to be taken out of the box to fail . Bought one 2 days ago , wired it today after fitting bullbar on and it winds out but wont wind in . Qualified auto electrician says its stuffed. So i am going to get a refund ,
