Hi! From Swakopmund to Sossusvlei, was the route really 4 hours, or did it take longer? I’m planning my itinerary on my own and I’m having trouble finding this accurate information, as I heard that the travel time shown on Google isn’t reliable.

Hi. I will largely depend on the condition of the road and the car you are driving. We've driven the road when it is good and then it takes about 4hrs and in the same year we have driven it when it is badly corrugated and in bad condition and then it can take up to 6hrs as some parts really get bad. So it will largely depend when the road was scraped and how bad it is when you are travelling. But if it is bad it can take much longer than 4hrs.

You should be fine. There are some small sand patches near the camp but it should not be an issue. The staff reaches the camp with a hatchback car.

Hi. Thanks for watching. You are allowed 6 pax per campsite and you pay per campsite. At the moment on the website it says R615 per campsite per night. That is R100 per person. Prices may change, so best to check with the camp. Happy camping.

Camped there on way to Namibia as well. Great campsite but the corrugated is really bad which is a pity. The next time we camped closer to the border @ Fiddlers Creek / Bushwhackers which is also nice.

My friends parents they live they’re and him. They own old steamer *it’s a restaurant at alte Brücke and their house is close by. He has like three ps5s and like one Xbox and like three monitors. Old steamer is THE BEST RESTAURANT EVER*

Yes you can. The only part that will require a 4x4 is the last 2 or 3 km's of the road that leads to the vlei itself as this is rather thick sand. However you can make use of a shuttle service that will take you there.
