I'm sitting here trying to figure out how to make this van work for one adult two kids under 10 and two dogs. Your video made all the difference, I don't need a ton of cupboards or drawers, just a place to call home on the road while we make memories. Thank you :)

We’re a hopeful van family of four + two dogs (thinking they’ll kennel under the bottom bunk). Thanks for the inspiration!
@SMafam54 ай бұрын
I presume there are 4 seats/belts across that bench then? And 3 in front bench since bunk bed (except dog hammock) look permanent?
@jakekostelyk4 ай бұрын
@@SMafam5 there are the 2 front captains seats, then a bench with 3 (the dog hammock bench) then a bench of 2. The fridge is beside the kids in the back row, and the bed is right behind them. :)

Nice setup. What device do you use as for charging the power station from the vehicles alternator?
@jakekostelyk4 ай бұрын
@@AbyNYC we have solar on the roof (200w) and also have recently added a 700w renogy inverter that we plug the AC adapter to charge the power station. It works perfect for us!

It is so hard for me to believe this.. Im almost certain you guys have a house and live here 15% of the time...
@jakekostelyk8 ай бұрын
Haha, that’s correct, we do not live in this van full time! This is our camping/adventuremobile. It works great for that… it wouldn’t be great to live in.

This is SO helpful. Family of 6 here. It's been a year since your last video. Any chance for a update video of the things you have learned, added, and changed since the last video? Thanks so much for putting this out there. The video was also hilarious. Loved the humor.
@jakekostelyk Жыл бұрын
Thanks! Yeah, we’ve done many kilometers, and many adventures in this van, and changed quite a bit since we posted this video. I have a Video planned for this fall of our Yukon/Alaska Road Trip, but i’ll also put on the list another video of the upgrades, lessons learned, etc. :)

I agree. We are a family of 6. This is the first van I've seen for a larger family. Thanks for sharing.

Yeah, we hadn't seen many like this, for the amount of kids we have, which is why we made the video... hopefully something helpful for other big families! We did a 3 week road trip to Yukon/alaska this summer in Buster the van, and it worked amazing. (we'll be releasing a video of the adventures this winter!)

I love these big family vacation mobiles. We wanted to do this with ours but its a smidge too small. We ended up with a 17' trailer this year.

Thanks! Yeah, we really had to go to the absolute biggest one to make it work for our camping/adventure goals!

Thx for the information. Are the lines clearly marked for beginner runs? I’ve been hitting the delta watershed a few times, just easier runs so far. I use a hard tail mountain bike
@jakekostelyk3 жыл бұрын
I'd recommend using trail forks, but the lines are really clear regardless! A hard tail would be fine!

Man I wish I lived on the mainland, only have so much road and trail to ride on the island also having riding buddies to do stuff like this would be pretty awesome.
@jakekostelyk3 жыл бұрын
Where do you live on the island? I’ve found the Victoria area amazing for road riding, and the rest of the island is pretty incredible gravel riding (but yeah, not as many paved roads). When I camp at Rathtrevor each summer I bring my gravel bike, usually.

Hey man, it's Robert. Looks like a great local ride! Definitely beats the boring straight and flat rural Alberta roads I'm used to! I'm looking forward to stopping by in June if it we can work that out. Maybe you can ride with us for a bit too!

I’d love to!!! Let’s connect prior, and make it work! We’re up there a lot, and I ride up in that area a ton, as it’s my favourite spot! Where you from in Alberta?

@@jakekostelyk I'm a little northeast of Edmonton near Redwater. I normally drive out to the Rockies and do day trips around Jasper, I love it there! I'm looking forward to BC though and areas I can get some sweet drone footage!
