Elephant trunk snake not from south America but from Australia. You can see one killed by a native (to be eaten) by a uman bite on the neck, in the first Crocodile Dundee movie
@Snake_Therapy6 сағат бұрын
Actually... according to a Google Search, it's native to Southeast Asia, India, Sri Lanka, and the Indo-Australian islands. So not technically mainland Australia but the Solomons. (I would never trust a movie like Crocodile Dundee for information about animals, but it was close!) 😂 Thanks for pointing out that she was wrong, though!
@albertomariacristofani83334 сағат бұрын
@@Snake_TherapyNo, I was completely wrong. The movie where I saw the scene of that person (a woman to be precise) killing an elephant trunk snake with a bite to the neck, was an old documentary about snakes from the 90s and since I remembered the face of that woman and she had the features of the Australian aborigines, I connected it to the movie Crocodile. However, I am Italian, I have a Suriname boa and a ball python (which we call Royal P. here). I watch your videos. They are very beautiful and instructive. I like to see when you build the cages or do other jobs. It relaxes me. You are very good and methodical. Sorry for the length. keep going!

A definite labor of love that I'm sure your beautiful snake will thrive in! Appreciate your comments about perfectionism and letting go of it in certain parts of the process. As a fellow perfectionist it's great to hear and see others letting go of it and learning to be ok with 'good' and not 'perfect' (which isn't possible anyway).
@Snake_Therapy9 сағат бұрын
Thank you. 💙 The drive to be perfect can be negative, but it can also be a positive, motivating force as long as you allow yourself to let go at a certain point. For me, it's a constant battle!

@Snake_Therapy agreed! I think the key is knowing when to turn it on and tirn it off. Else leisurely enjoyments suddenly carry a weight of importance they're not meant to bear. Learning myself as well.

If the hybridization brings snakes closer to domestication and is done with methodical and serious intent,I'm all for it. It's time to stop breeding for morphs and develop actual breeds like we have with rabbits,dogs and chickens.

@Snake_Therapy19 күн бұрын
wow, that's a HUGE compliment coming from you!! what an honor, thank you. and YES, inaturalist is such an amazing resource, and weatherspark.com is really helpful. The only trick is that it mostly has weather data from cities/towns, which are, although *close* to where the sightings of the animals are, are not necessarily going to be the same temps/humidity. but they definitely help give insight, and sometimes you can get bang on to where the animal was seen. happy new year! thank you so much for watching!

It's a soil made from different mosses and carbon sand, I believe. Usually used for tarantula or amphibian enclosures. I get mine usually from a local store that makes their own, but you can find similar types from Josh's frogs or various other good reptile companies.

You've have accomplished so much this year! Thank you for sharing it with us. One of the biggest accomplishments perhaps, is inspiring so many people to pay more attention to their relationships with pets and improve husbandry - probably more than you'll ever know! Me included 😊 it's powerful to not feel alone when increasing enclosure sizes and fostering the idea that better care for less animals can bring you as much or more enjoyment than collecting more in just "suitable" conditions. Thank you for all that you do, and I'm excited to be along for the ride in 2025.
