Ummm nope, some of the original reactors cut the words out when they did the reaction, that's why in some of the reactions the words are left in and in others it's taken out. I can't put the words back in if the original reactor cut it out, can I? Why tf would I cut the words out on some of the reactions and leave it in on others? Think dude, it's free.

Let me offer a counterpoint to the, “Answer the phone!,” argument. To become, “The One,” wouldn’t that require isolation? An “Island” experience that requires you to reach within yourself and draw out everything needed for sustaining oneself, alone and free from everything and everyone? Until he believed in himself, to believe completely that he CAN DO everything that is required to carry that title, effortlessly, as being, “The One”…Morpheus & Trinity NEEDED to be absent from the picture, figuratively & literally, so that Neo could be completely present…as, “The One!” Just a thought. Much love! Keep the videos coming. 🫡👍😎

True, he needed to face the ultimate challenge on his own in order to truly unlock his potential. I also read other valid explanations on here as to why they needed the scene, why they needed to find a way to move the story forward and setup the final showdown. The issue with the phone scene for me is not about any of that though. I get that they needed a scene or excuse to move the story forward and set it up for the ultimate showdown, all stories need that, but surely there are many ways in which this could be achieved. I just think the way they did it made Trinity look a bit stupid and I don't like that because I like her and I find her actions there to be inconsistent with everything we saw from her leading up to that point. She is smart, disciplined and practical. Doing that phone scene like that where she knows the agents are breathing down their necks after they just pulled off the biggest rescue and escape in history and then 5 seconds from safety, deciding to have a long winded heart to heart? I just found it inconsistent with her character. But I guess love makes fools of us all😅 Thanks for watching, more on the way

I have a theory about John Wick and water in this movie. He takes the shower before the first men attack, his entrance back into the underworld. Winston warns him against dipping a pinkie in that pond, and every pool of standing water he encounters after that he stays away from. He doesn't get his hand wet in the sink, he doesn't shoot Iosef while he's in the pool. Then at the end he gets caught in the rain again, and after that he's back in the 'real' world.
@WeWatchTheWatchersКүн бұрын
Interesting, so what's the symbolism of the water? Death and rebirth?
@AuthorGuy1Күн бұрын
@WeWatchTheWatchers more a symbol of transition, as rain. You could even take it farther as man-made rain versus natural rain. It's the standing water that was dangerous. In my head-canon of the story John is still out after 1. I would have made a sequel with motivations similar to the first, skirting the edge but never getting sucked back in.

A) that scene with KW going down the stairs is a verror 'horror' moment. B) There's another scene of a man being killed with a pen, in Grosse Pointe Blank. There's another John Cusack movie with his character killing three men in a bar, not with a pencil, though.

The thing I love about Kirk Lazarus as a character is that he’s meant to be an over the top parody of method actors and the considering how relaxed and casual RDJ is as an actor makes this performance of his so much more hilarious

8:30 Since you are bringing up the subject, if you haven't seen it, I would like to bring to your attention the 2002 Christian Bale film "Equilibrium". It created gun-kata as it's called.
@Luciphell5 күн бұрын
6:30 It's a dramatic and plausible excuse to initiate the third act climax. It serves it's purpose. It's a movie. Things are not meant to be 1 to 1 reality. People that are deep into the story seem to forget that. It's not a bad thing, being engrossed in the story. But people tend to forget they are watching a movie, a machine with moving parts. Yeah, in real life you wouldn't stop to have a heart to heart in a tense situation, but this is entertainment. If the Matrix attempted to be a movie that follows that sort of real world logic, it would never have become the cultural touchstone it is. At the end of the day, it's a person sitting around a campfire telling you a story, and many sadly tend to forget that.

Clarification. I was referring to something in part 1 (previous video) The point was that Iosef and his goons went after John Wick over a car (see garage scene where John says "She's not for sale") and because he (Iosef) felt disrespected. Many reactors couldn't believe that Iosef and his goons would go after John just because of that little incident at the garage, but it's not far fetched at all if you understand these sort of criminals. I never for a moment thought or said that John Wick went after them over the car. That would be quite moronic. In hindsight, perhaps I should have put that part of the analysis at the end of part 1, I split the videos up post edit and that point ended up at the end of part 2, so I understand the confusion.

The answer-the-phone moment was a genius by the directors. After watching this, I am 100% sure it caused the audience tension, stress, and irritation. The quietness of the scene and the look on Neo's face also said, "can we do this later.". I believe The Oracle told Trinity what she needed to hear, knowing she would put Neo in that situation.
@JollyJeff7 күн бұрын
I like how The Oracle says, "You're waiting for something." Neo says, "For what?" Oracle, "your next life maybe.," and she was right. In the end, he didn't become The One until AFTER he was shot and died. When Trinity whispered in his ear that he couldn't die because the Oracle told her that she would fall in love with The One and she loved him. And that's when he defied all the rules and rose up as the One, love conquers all, baby!

They needed the subway talk to set up the end scene where she says she loves him. Without that the payoff might not make sense. They also needed Neo to stay and have the cool fight scene, get shot and then really become the one. Without the subway conversation, Trinity saying she loves him doesn't really make as much sense.
@unclelink7 күн бұрын
The subway phone thing: 1. They didn't know the bum was there. 2. They had to move the plot forward with a bit of suspension. The perfect movie doesn't exist. Even The Shawshank Redemption had its flaws. Some think the poster over the hole was a major one but I think it's the location of Andy's cell. When the Warden and guards were rushing to his cell it clearly showed other cells on either side. Where did the solid wall for him to burrow through come from? Nonsense rambling for a simple point. My favorite scene would be from Reloaded with the first appearance of the new Agents (one was from Mortal Kombat Conquest, one played Nightman and the other... can't remember). "It's him." "The anomaly." "Shall we proceed." "Yes." "He is still..." "only human."

Not bad writing at all. They needed the scene to set up the pay off at the end where she finally tells him she loves him. Without that scene the payoff is marginalized and potentially doesn't make sense.

@WeWatchTheWatchers8 күн бұрын
"for no reason" Yeah, the "compiler" (me) gave the reason on the community tab of the channel and in the comments on previous videos. KZbin monetization policy compliance. I have to feature myself in the videos to make the content transformative. Trust me, I was more than happy to remain behind the scenes until YT stone cold demonetized my entire channel until I fix it (by popping into ALL the videos) Therefore, I do it for good reason, not no reason. Besides, the channel grew with 214 new subscribers just on the videos that I "pop in" on, so some people like it or at least tolerate it. If you can't, sorry to see you go, but this is the direction we're taking.
