Equal length manifolds are not the secret, there are many KZbin videos where this has been tried without success.

They are part of the recipe, but not a solution by itself, indeed. Also, I just checked out this website, it's not exactly confidence inspiring either. I get that this is a japanese site and company, but not being able to spell brand names properly doesn't exactly make me want to buy their product.

My transit I just bought is a 2007 MK2, i believe the engine is 2.4L TDCI and on the tacho it has a "greenline" mark from 1500rpm to 3000rpm, which I noticed wasn't present on the Mk2 in this video. It has no redline. What is this? I'm assuming it's the optimal zone. If I rev higher than 3k it sounds like it's redlining and I'm hardly getting anymore power. I don't want to destroy the engine, but at the same time driving under 3000rpm like this feels super sluggish and like it has no power. Is it ok to rev past 3k even for common daily leisurely trips? It's so sluggish that if this was the cure I'd have to do it every single time I drive off from a red light. There must be an issue with the engine or turbo maybe but I dunno. I just bought it and the mechanic went over it and everything looks pretty legit, just has very poor acceleration
