69 year old widow and I’m not going into any dating anymore. My first husband left me and the small children. Raised them alone for 13 years. Then I met a sweet man with a heart of gold who died of cancer 7 years ago. I’m done. Empty. And happy, content. I found God. Nothing or no one can beat that! ❤🙏 And for the younger people, here’s the most important advice for all of you: DON’T JUMP THE SACK AT ANY DATE, SPECIALLY NOT THE FIRST ONE!!! MAN OR WOMAN, WE’RE NOT SUPPOSED TO WHORE AROUND!!!!

My husband and I met when we were both in long term relationships that hadn't run their course yet, so we were good friends for 2 years. Everyone knew we were in love except us 😂 when we finally got together, there was no question about marriage being on the table, but it was because we'd had so much time to get to know each other as friends and had set that hard boundary for so long. It was perfect, and we're perfect for each other.

How do you gain confidence to where you don’t feel like getting into inappropriate, self-disrespecting, and unfulfilling relationships and needing to be drunk just to hang out with someone.. like things you can do long term. I already am learning about doing self care, what else can I do? Also already going to therapy but it’s mostly for my alcoholism.. 46 days sober so far. Someone wants to hang out but I don’t even like the person but the attention they give me I guess is the only thing I like. And I feel like I have to be drunk to hang out with them. But now my sober mind is almost using hanging out with them as an excuse to drink.. even tho I don’t even really wanna see them. Or drink. But I guess I just like the attention or something ??? I really don’t know. We don’t even have much to talk about. But I used to spend like almost every night at his house and just drink. He barely even drank. That’s the only thing I liked to do. And Id drink every hour of the day. And I wouldn’t eat cause I was insecure to eat in front of him. And I lost like 15 lbs in 2 months. Now that I’m sober I’ve gained weight in rehab. And I lowkey wanna go back to drinking to lose weight again. But if I tell my counselor if I relapse she’ll either quick me out if the rehab aftercare program or move me back into residential. So I have no one to talk to about this
