Is it necessary to use some air to blow away any small particles before you unscrew the plugs? If so, any ideas how can one do when air is not available?

You don't wont any particles going inside the engine so yes it is advisable to blow away the dirt. To blow air when you don't have a air compressor: You could attach a drinking straw (plastic ones not them paper ones) to a tyre inflator. Or if you don't have a tyre inflator; you could attach a drinking straw to the end of a balloon. blow up the ballon and pinch the end of it stop the air escaping, aim the staw at the dirt, and let the balloon deflate

Here's me cutting the top of a plastic bottle, I use an old rag to wrap around it, it holds it steady and prevents any dripping - congrats about your solution to a problem I don't have.

You do realise your original black funnel requires cutting down to where the threaded bit is cut it down to there and it will work 🤦🏻

Pour the oil with the nozzle at the top of the can, it will pour out in a smooth flow.

Change the valve cover, there are valves for the inner air pressure - inside the engine.

On my Audi A3 8V the calipers and bolts were so rusty that the bolt split in half. Please bear that in mind if your doing it yourself

Well, they could move the mechanics everything related to the engine and more to the rear part except for the water tank for the wipers or the battery and the trunk that puts things they could move it to the front part near the water tank for the wipers and battery like a lambo or all supercars with rear mid engine, what's the problem?!?! not normal
