Are you a sub with DSO? I’m assuming they do more than 1 rehearsal for their classical series.

as far as im concerned the BONGO is THE best bass you make. nobody in the industry has come out with anything cool say maybe Dingwall.

Agreed. The playing is quite sloppy in places too, that doesn't help.

Sounds great! I have the guitar version, and I have traveled all over with it. It has been a game changer for when I travel internationally on multi-week work trips. Nothing like getting to travel with a full-size instrument.

You should review the Hofner Violin Shorty bass, or maybe do a comparison video of travel basses.

@calilil Greetings Calilil.🎶🎵🎶 I was also impressed, I didn't expect such a good tone for a bass that looks so simple and is practically everything separated. For a bass that is designed to solve the inconvenience of charging on trips it does a good job. Take care of yourself Calilil. I send you a big hug from the island of Puerto Rico, you are an excellent bassist and your video reviews are great.

Great review! I recently got a BOSS GX-10 effects processor, but after attempting a firmware upgrade, the unit got stuck and now won't boot. I've contacted local service providers, but they couldn't fix it, and there's no warranty support here in my country. Has anyone experienced a similar issue? Any advice on possible fixes or recovery methods would be greatly appreciated! Thanks.

Perfect video Excellent explanation of the whole design, nice to explain how it can be really good even beeing made in China (with Canadian material actually and the new custom bridge and tuners now). The NEVE preamp has made its debut on the Dingwall custom shop too and the Fast Lane prototype. I think you just missed the frets that are Banjo frets actually. Also, pickups are wired in either serie or parallel together which make the big tonal difference you get, but also in serie or parallel individually (because those custom pickups are split coil)

The 2024 model is Japan made. The 1024 is made in Taiwan and does not have the wood or resonance conditioning mentioned here. Was sold for half price of the 2024 but many rave it played very well. Reminds me of today models BB734 vs BBP34

FYI, the Xsonic Airstep is a better alternative to the Boss wireless. It had 5 switches with 3 SEPARATE functions per switch. 15 functions!! Done via short press, long press, press and hold. Expansion jacks, midi, usb, Bluetooth.

Effect loops with a real blend control (not a mid scoop, like this amp lol) are very effective for adding dirt without compromising your low end.
@BassGearMagazine21 күн бұрын
Yes, a clean blend for dirt/distortion is always a helpful option on a preamp/head/pedal.

Great review!! Also some very useful time saving information here. I have the old GT-1B and JUST bought the GX-100. I haven’t even taken it out of the box yet, got the dongle to go with it. It went on sale as soon as these GX-10 came out. I actually like having a little bigger footprint and more buttons. I had no idea there was a Bluetooth floor pedal😅!! Oh well, I always found it annoying to have a side pedal to my GT1B. looks like I’m at about the same price point too. I will definitely be using the overtone effect you shared. Incredible how well that tracked. Must be copying the signal in some different way, that was incredible! I was using an octave down effect, but again it glitched here and there. I can just drop playing an octave and use overtone!😃 An incredibly useful effect that boss makes is their fretless effect. You can’t get it stand alone, only in these units. I use it almost every week that I play in Church. I’m also in a band where we do some pretty heavy stuff but also some slower passages. I use it there too. It’s basically just a tweaked auto-wah effect. It helps if you think like a fretless player as you’re playing. Worth checking out!

I'm so glad you got so much value from it! Yeah, Overtone is a stand out for sure. Thanks for adding all that info!

Make one without the Volume/Expression pedal and put there one more switch . because most of the bass players do not use the Expression pedal
@rl-ub9hx22 күн бұрын
I posted about this on FB and on Talkbass the week before they announced this haha. I was disappointed but I have the GX100 and am truly set for a long time

Speak for yourself. I like using expression pedal as I can change more parameters at once than with a single footswitch.
@rl-ub9hx22 күн бұрын
@@EvanKenobi that's where the waza foot switch would come in. Make it detachable and wireless so you can place it anywhere you want or have the single unit

These are over $3000. For made in China. It's hard to even care about the bass itself because the economic problems that this signifies are so concerning.
@xmanual18 күн бұрын
I understand how that looks on the surface however world economics are extremely complex. New York City used to be a center of guitar manufacturing until rent and labor got too expensive. Then Chicago became a center for guitar manufacturing until rent and labor got too expensive. Then Japan became a center of guitar manufacturing etc, etc. It sucks, I know but last I checked, New York and Chicago were doing fine.
