Couldnt you of used a propane torch to loosen up those semi frozen nuts holding the mixing valve. I know there are gaskets in there, but you are replacing them, no?

What the ... ?? I didn't know the overflow drain worked like THAT. That means the old-style tubs have the first few inches of drain pipe that are always within the circulation path of the bathtub water ... meaning, whatever bacteria has grown inside that short section of pipe is part of what you're bathing in. How insane!!! The actual tub stopper that's located INSIDE the tub is what you're going to want, because it's not absolutely disgusting.

I think this is from the video where he leaves a seized plunger in the drain and just tries to snake around it. If anyone else has that problem and is trying to solve it without opening a wall: a long sprinkler key is the ideal tool to twist it and break it loose, the super cheap ones under $10 work best because they are flimsy enough to bend their way down to it. Soaking it in CLR or heat shocking it with boiling or steam can also help break it loose to where you can fish it out with a bit of hooked wire. If you can get the plunger out, you can properly pull up the clog with the snake instead of possibly just sending further down the pipes to where it might be harder to eliminate.

Nice, makes the problem worse and probably charges over $200. He broke the stopper while plugging the drain and made no attempt to fix that problem. I'm not even sure how he was able to snake past it to get some drainage? But will clog again quickly with the limited drain opening.

Handsome work, guys. but let's be straight, the old boiler was "serviceable". It might have been "40yrs old" but that Beckett burner wasn't original, it had definitely been replaced within that period of time, and i doubt many of the other serviceable bolt-ons like exp tank, flue pipe, relief valves, etc, were original. The Biasi is more efficient than the old unit, no question. That old boiler had a DHW coil in it, which are def inferior, but it can be negated and an indirect used instead. Nonetheless, nice clean work here.

Depends what their labor rate is in my area I charge $95 an hour plus parts so I'd say it's a $250-350 job (including flushing it with sizzle) unless something else pops up while your fixing it which tbh it happens sometimes

Agree. Horrific video. More problems and no solution. He probably wedged the stopper over with the snake and that’s how they got better drainage but still not draining like it should.

Well I got the barrel out (not in). I was lucky but I give credit to my steamer and I spray steam down the drain and it loosen up. I am surprise that these plumbers do not have an inspection camera with them. Mine did and it made a difference.

I have this problem now. My barrel is stuck. The plumbers I called broke the barrel off and then told me it was unfixable and gave me a $200 bill. It's true when you get old, people take advantage of you. I call another LICENSED plumber today and I'll show him this video if he tells me its not fixable. Thanks.

I have a frozen overflow valve stuck. I was trying to pull it up with a strong metal rod but unable to. Now i have hotspot on the floor near my bathtub. Could i have bursted hot water pipe in the process? What do you think? Is it a coincidence? Thanks

I had a water problem in the celler, the ceiling was dripping water, I thought it was a underfloorheating pipe that leaked. My son insisted that I call a leakage finding company because it was complicated to judge the situation. It was a loose bathtub drain. Thanks for explaining and showing a housewife a video, we would like to know what is going on in our homes and the precautions to take. Be blessed.

Question for anybody when your air conditioner units in the Attic it gets too hot does your blower stay on
@twatts1523
@twatts1523 4 ай бұрын
No, unless you have the fan set to ON. However, in my situation, when the system is not running, the air inside the ducts gets extremely hot, so when the AC first comes out, it feels like the heat is on. Unfortunately, AC in the attic is problematic. The heat in the winter is no problem. I have 10 foot ceilings, and in a 1500 square foot house, and my electric bill in the summer ranges from $600-$900. And the thermostat struggles to get below 80 during the day. I have to have portable AC unit in my room.

Also, if you condenser pump ever fails, all the nasty overflow leaks and becomes absorbed into your ceiling. Even with a pan.

What are the specs of the power supply in Volts and Amperes? I have a unit running on battery but don't think I should pay $35 for a $5 power supply.

The flexes way to long too many restrictions I guarantee you if I ran out the duck and flexing their it'll be 10 times colder than what whoever put that stuff in I seen a lot of companies and that's like somebody who's never done it before that's what their work looks like it's like the first time ever run flex I don't know where y'all live I know in Florida in our county have to have a Panduit tape on the inside liner on the outside liner you have to have tape all the way around it that's fast on to fast on tape all the way around it and then you have to master it or pookie it however you prefer to say the word trust me I've been doing this for 25 years and all I am is an installer I don't own my own company but if y'all want me to come work for you I'll show you how it's done and I don't know how long that little bit and a little bit of ductwork I know me and my helper knock that out in a day half a day when they took us all night and all day you know it took probably you know starting of the day till about 3:30 best cutting and boots and all of it secondary we would have had that unit installed by at least by 10
