Poor set didnt sell @ all cuz us Men had no idea what Lionel was thinking when it was Lionel who tried getting Girls into Trains by painting the set in Easter colors. I learned that from I Love Toy Trains & now its worth thousands of dollars & probably the most sought after Lionel Train Set!

This is not the Yonkers Model RR club, this is the westchester club which is lionel, Im a past member of the Yonkers model rr club which is H O scale, and was upstairs in the tibbetts pool building.

I was going to ask what engine that was because it looked larger than the original lip so 2037 steam engine. I thought it was a repainted 2046 at first because of the length of the loco and tender shape.

I got my sister Elsa a Marx 1666 and it actually runs better in the Lionel fas-track than it does on the regular o gauge track. All of her trains do.

It seemed that the fastrack for some reason caused more wear on my center pickup than the tubular track, but it could be just my imagination.

I think I know why that Medchemical bell / E bell is still ringing a lot Because The Stupited Dam Dump truck didn't stop too fast what in idiot and the Dump truck slammed through the gate on the right of New bridge road head to Hackensack . Besides the slow CSX train 643 was pretty slow with piggyback cars . The CSX Single truck have to install a new bell in the front of Cp10 that should go off when the gates are fully blocked . Or they should install a brand new Rail road crossing on New bridge road so the bell doesn't ring as much so when the train passes by it won't ring a lot as well as the other railroad crossings in Bergenfield Dumont Haworth Closter Harrington park Old Tapan Norwood North Vale and Tapan along the CSX riverline going to New York State .

Weren't they a outside 3rd rail club in the 50's?

Track sounds are preferable to inappropriate music.

The original was a failed experiment by lionel to get girls involved in the hobby in the 50's. They didnt go for it, hense it had a very short life on the assembly line. No days it is a very rare collectors peice for Post War Lionel Collectors. Not a big fan of the actual set, but as a collector, I would love to have one of these sets in my collection if ever given the chance.

Came across your vid. Boy does this bring back memories. My friend had a four lane race set down his basement. We would bring OUR own cars. We were our own pit crew with spare guide pins, tires, and pick up shoes. Wish we thought of filming of some of the great racing we did down that basement in 1974 thru 77. I had a 72' Plymouth Duster and a RC CanAm racer.

Perhaps if they had painted certain parts of the loco pink, such as the cab, smokebox and wheels, instead of just taking it and dipping it in a tin of pink paint, it might have sold better. But then it would not be so collectable today.

Thanks for sharing this video. Noe I know what to expect with the Fastrack. I have a 666 Marx steamer, and two postwar Lionel steamers: a non smoking 246 and a 243 that smokes. With these engines, I keep a Marx 1549 70 watt transformer to use. They don't work to well with the transformer in my Lionel Frisco Freight Set #6-29172. They do the same thing that your 1666 does with the Fastrack turnouts when i use the newer transformer.

Looks like a lot of fun!
