Any 30cc single or 40cc twin will fly it fine! So your OS 33 will be perfect!

@@mov0927 it's not overpowered. I'd say it's perfect for STOL flying. Your 30cc single should give similar performance.

Question - that Saito FG-90 weight 7.7 lbs (with mufflers), which is about three pounds heavier than the DA70 recommended engine. How did you balance the plane? Install the batteries in the tail?

just had the maiden on mine, flew very well, i used 5055 580kv motor on a 16x10 prop, gonna change to a 16x8 on 4s 6000mah, no nose weight needed

@johnkearney-es4tq 4S 5000, but the plane still needed some weight upfront, so you could use even bigger baterry if you wanted to.

great video and explanation of break in procedure!! Ijust got this engine... i fly with Redline oil... how much should I put in this breather nipple? i ony have one on the bottom.thanks!! or did you do any oil for break-in? thank you

@noahschechtel8979 Thank you. And yes, I have injected 20cc of the red line oil through the nipple while turning the propeller before the break-in.

The owner of the plane, Nick, said it is the cowl that came with the plane. But I believe he said they started putting the bigger cowl in the kits.

Not my plane but the prop is Biela 25x10 I believe, not sure about the CG.

Looks like a lot of fun! What was the wind speed that day? Try for more angle of attack and throttle management on the landings. Leading edge slats would help maintain a high alpha approach to landing tailwheel first. 😀👍
