Those (inconsistent) penalties are ruining the joy of racing and the language FIA uses shows they are doing that on purpose and worse, even take pride in it. I look forward to your video on it mostly bcuz i've been watching most races from a Max pov and even though we all know his driving is on the edge he really got effed badly multiple times by questionable penalties. I would love to know if other drivers got that royal FIA treatment as well. Are certain drivers or teams just exempt or favored and others mostly punished? Did it (or can it) influence the Championship and even darker, are they planning on using these penalties to influence the Championship on purpose and take pride in it?
@RacingBlind9Күн бұрын
I certainly think alonso falls into the category of unfair penalties. At least in the past, he has been pretty vocal about being treated differently to other drivers. As well, Magnussen also had a bad time with penalties. I think one thing ties all these drivers together. They are hard racers. They will always push every corner to the limit. The current fia seems to not like that level of racing.

Honest and straightforward opinion backed by a very good explanation of reality, unlike most other f1 channels that just simply want to slaughter Checo by claiming he underperformed for two years without ever backing that up with facts (bcuz they got none lol). To me, Checo at the end of this year was performing on a Stroll level, making it impossible for RB to keep him on even when they knew the car was not good enough. His performance was pretty okay up until 6 months ago but since Monaco it went off a cliff, and after Monza it became a horrible nightmare getting only 8 points in as many races. Before Monza his average was 9 points per race and that would still be sufficient to grab both Championships. Its funny that Gasly and Albon are now drivers that fit into the box but are not even considered. It would be great if Checo gets a seat at Cadillac but being thrown out (on itself logical) by RB only to see some kid with almost no credentials take it is why more and more people consider RB to be a bit of a joke. I'm looking forward to an angry Yuki who will want to show he can outperform Liam, even in a lesser car.

I like it, convincing and outspoken, critical yet logical. If you have to make a 'what if' video this is how its done. Sadly i don't see Ferrari doing much better but what do i know lol. I think Charles' grid penalty practically guarantees McLaren take the Constructors, unless something crazy happens. The Williams drivers are definitely being hamstrung by the mishmash nature of their equipment and maybe even a subconscious fear of crashing the car and doing even more damage.

Ferrari or McLaren for WCC?
@Jay_The_Cat18 күн бұрын
Unless McLaren have a complete meltdown, I think it's hard to look past them for the Constructors on current form. As far as the FIA's oversight body goes, they must remain independent - no governing organization should ever be allowed to mark their own homework. From where I'm sitting, Ben Sulayem just doesn't want to be held accountable. I also agree that Yuki must get the second RB seat: he's jumped through every hoop they've placed in front of him, so he's earned the right to show the world what he can do in a top team.

@@Jay_The_Cat I hope it's a clean weekend for everyone, I would hate for things to be decided after the race is over. I wonder if Red Bull Will make a decision really fast or wait until closer to the 2025 season to confirm or deny Perez?

@@RacingBlind9 I don't think the FIA will want a repeat of last weekend, that was pretty farcical. Stuff like that should never overshadow the racing. It's clear RB want Perez to jump so that they don't have to push him - I think whichever does happen (and how quickly) will depend on his result in the race.

For sure, that was a series of baffling decisions from the Race Director. Debris on the track at the main passing location on the circuit should have been a SC straight away, no question. It was a strong result for Gasly again, plus it was nice to see Zhou finally get a fair reward for his effort. As for Lewis wanting to park the car up early... I can understand his frustration 100%, but he needs to tough it out. When you're a multiple champ and one of the greats, you don't want to damage your legacy by making folk think you're a quitter.

I hope lewis is ready for ferrari pain next year. He has no idea about bad luck. That team has broken so many drivers.
@Jay_The_Cat20 күн бұрын
@@RacingBlind9 Honestly? I think Lewis has been around the block too many times to let that happen. Obviously he'll want to be competitive right out of the gate, because if there was any time to beat Max it's gonna be 2025 when the cars will be as close as they'll ever be this ruleset. Before that, even, I think he'll be keen to beat Charles consistently - cause even if the car maybe isn't quite there, it will still give him a boost in confidence.

It was wise of Michael Andretti to step aside, obviously recognizing that (rightly or wrongly) he was one of the main obstacles in the team's admission. My money is on Ferrari supplying the PU, gearbox and rear suspension until GM are ready with their own engine. I don't think Audi could be compelled to do so since they'd be a new manufacturer in their first year. Andretti and Honda have worked together Stateside so that is perhaps an option, however. Overall it's gonna be good for the sport, I think. As long as GM stay committed!
@RacingBlind925 күн бұрын
I forgot Honda worked with Andretti so closely, that's a great point. the rules have changed so much since we had more than 20 cars on track. Qualifying should be packed! I wonder if it will warrant a rule change? still 15 make it through to Q2?
@Jay_The_Cat25 күн бұрын
@@RacingBlind9 Yes; even though Honda are meant to be "exclusive" to Aston Martin in 2026 I think the PU regulations will override any contract of that nature. Indeed, I'd imagine the quali format will need to be adjusted slightly to accommodate the larger grid. Q1 and Q2 dropzones would be now be the slowest seven drivers, instead of the slowest five.

Unless Max has a DNF I think he'll get the win, but I expect him to be pushed VERY hard by the McLarens and Ferraris. Do you know what tyre compounds Pirelli are bringing here? They gotta go a step softer at least for the sake of safety, cause it will be freezing. I saw a video at Williams HQ when they brought the damaged cars back home, the engineers and mechanics lowkey died inside. 😭
@RacingBlind9Ай бұрын
Softest compound from Pirelli this weekend. I heard a rumor there were some super softs being tested by a team recently. I wonder if Pirelli are going to make softer/harder compounds for the future as some of these races are getting extreme. I feel bad for Williams, this will ruin the rest of their season and probably their winter program. Mechanics looked like death, that one guy had dark bags under his eyes.
@Jay_The_CatАй бұрын
@@RacingBlind9 I'm sure I read somewhere that Ferrari will be testing 2025 parts on their car this weekend for example, so in terms of development Williams were definitely put on the back foot. I'd like to see tyres that don't require such careful management. Of course, the fact that cars now are heavier than ever only exacerbates the issue.

A meeting held with the track owner, sports minister, FIA and F1 officials at the track at the end of October; upgrades include extended runoff areas at three critical corners of the track, along with enhancements to the Armco barriers to meet F1 safety standards. An agreement has been met and layout adjustment will be by Apex Circuit Design. The other African country in contention is Rwanda (not the Congo) who'll also be hosting the FIA prize giving at the end of the year. They'll build a track. F1 is to announce the European tracks that'll be on as calendar rotational, personally, like you, I think we should get rid of a lot of the Middle Eastern tracks, but also Miami.

Renault have definitely 86'd their 2026 engine plans, so any procedural breaches were probably concerning this year. I'd imagine they'd have to wait till the end of this season before they can begin manufacturing their engine pool for 2025. With a fresh engine, it's easy to picture Max coming back through the field but he doesn't have the outright pace advantage he had last year... assuming there are no incidents I think the best he could do is 3rd place, maybe 2nd. Agree that Perez will likely see out the rest of this season, but if he ends up relegating them to 3rd in the constructors I think he'll be out for '25.
@RacingBlind9Ай бұрын
"...These errors relate to the development of the 2026 PU, not the current PU" Same with the honda engine, fines were for Aston martin honda... I think they have 86'd the engine, but not before they did significant work towards it, and then made some mistakes on reporting spending, probably because they don't care anymore, lol. But odd that potentially a 2026 renault engine is sitting somewhere with time and money spent on it.
