Coming back to this challenge at the end of 2024. It helped me so much three years ago when I was just getting started with keto, because like you always said, it kept it simple and I didn't overthink it. Unfortunately, I fell off keto for the last year, but I'm determined to make it my lifestyle again. And I knew the first step was finding all these tried and true recipes again. Thanks for sharing these. They are all great recipes and easy to make

It's not sad. She has a lot of weight to lose. And still has more to lose. And is working toward a healthy body for the rest of her life. And she is learning, growing, changing just like all of us do. Especially while working on a long term goal. As months and years go by she uses her experiences to educate, encourage and support others. What is there to criticize about that?

I totally agree with you. Keto is a great tool for a quick weight (and water) drop. However, for most, it is not sustainable long term. Jess is the perfect example of this. Come summer vacation, she returns to a carb-rich diet. I cannot fathom why she hasn't put two and two together with this? Eat what you want, just stay in a deficit.
@davidadcock3382
@davidadcock3382 Күн бұрын
@@MK-gk7gx Eating what you want will make it impossible to stay in deficit. Eating right will control your hunger which makes it very easy. Keto is a great tool in getting fat adapted but not for the long term. I started keto 6 years ago when I began to lose my 131 pounds and stayed on it for 4 months then I began to switch over to eating all whole foods 100 percent of the time without exception. I don't have cravings or get hungry like I did before. It took me two years to lose the 131 pounds and I have maintained the weight loss for 4 years. In six years I have not made one mistake in my eating. I know if I eat wrong just once the hunger and cravings will come back and it is impossible to win the battle when they do and that is why everyone gains all their weight back just like Jess is trying to do. 45 years of obesity with hunger and cravings all the time is enough for me, I am notting going back. Good luck.

I've been following you since the beginning when I was doing keto too. In about 2020 after doing keto (on and off because it wasn't sustainable for me) I developed binge eating disorder. At the end of 2022, I tried a GLP medication and it was the best thing I ever did. It's not just because of the weight loss though, it's the way it switched off the food noise in my head. It's amazing how much time I have for life, friends, family and love without having to think about food or what I'm going to (or can) eat next. I'm not saying this with judgement, but more concern - But you've been on and off diets for so long now, maybe it's time to seek professional help with weight management? Personally, I think you look healthy and happy (which is all that matters!) but if you truly think you need to lose more weight or gain control of your health - I beg of you to please seek professional help. Your life is worth so much more than your weight and "health"... life is just so amazing when you don't view yourself as a constant project.

When she got close to 170, her commitment and determination went out the window. She regained while vacationing, home renovating, etc etc. She stopped trying. Yes, she has restarted so many times. Jess, I confused about this, "Dry January", scenario? For real? Why would you have to intentionally set a rule to not drink that month? Is it possible that your not only have issues with saying no to certain foods, but also, with alcohol? I mean no disrespect, whatsoever. Hey, I'm no saint and I partied in college. And, having a drink once in a while is no big deal either. But, having to select a month where you don't drink is worrisome. You're 40 years old now. Your video is based on not bringing the bad habits into this new challenge, right? Why not stop the drinking altogether while on your weight-loss journey? When you learn to eat correctly 100 percent of the time you really don't need much self discipline to keep doing it. Living life at your normal weight over time is very motivating once you remember what life was like back when I was obese. Knowledge is the key to being successful not discipline. Jess watch this video every week and then ask your self afterward how did I do this week. Continue to do this until you reach your ideal weight and have stayed there for a year. I had some one last Sunday after church and asked me if I wanted a doenut while trying to hand me one. I quickly said no thank you I don't eat junk. I got a weird look and I responded again to him "I was only given one body and it took me way to long to learn how to take care of it and now that I do know how nothing can deter or temp me.
