By the way, there’s a recall for this issue, but only for 2nd gen MINIs, my 08 1st gen convertible is not covered 😞 Still struggling with a replacement donor BCM. Dashboard and parking lights stay on with donor BCM, but the windows do work with the replacement (non operational with the water damaged original one). May need to re-program new model, but haven’t had time to figure out how to..

The tricky is I cannot tilt flip damn I was trying yesterday but it seems I have to dismantle AIR box and ECM box connector, the one reason I pause the job ! I wish you show how to FLIP the fuse BOX , it will be going to help everyone in the world ! This is pretty important and commonly trouble maker of BMW-MINI soon n later ! How to replace 100A fuse I mean how to FLIP safely this Bad design fuse box Btw I still thank you

@@josh.drk.no way you have to remove the Air box n Disconnect the 2 connectors/ecm ! Disconnect the Battery bfr doing this I did last time because there’s no other way, the Mini is in good running now

@@HellaMeiste its a mess really, i thankfully got enough space to test the fuses they were fine so in the bad side that means i got a bad sterring pump seen ppl on here that open them i might try that bc cant find one anywhere

I got the fuse ( OE) from FCP euro and if you still cannot fix that with a new fuse, probably you need to fix the pump itself or you also test the secondary fun underneath plus I did change most of the fuses on the box of the engine😀 For refreshments , planned to check the BC but since it was fine n now it’s running good, if you have OBD2 you can narrow it down to the points Btw Good luck

had a small leak in FPR, showed it to the mechanic who grabbed a hammer and a screwdriver, now i have a fully pierced FPR and mechanic recommands to change the injection rail, (dont know how its called in english but in french he said rampe d'injection)

Relay gone bad. It was cheaper to get second hand module.

wtf was that all about m8? that old pulley for the diesel pump looks fine and it has nothing to do with the no start problem.what your problem probably is something with either camshaft position sensor or fuel most likely.Stop making misleading videos like that ffs drives me nuts

Misleading ? This is actually crankshaft pulley gear and not diesel pump pulley.

With 100k+ miles crankshaft gear will have inside wear on the edges, will cause movement and it’s enough for ECU to throw correlation/timing fault and will cause no start when hot.

Hi, the smell most likely coming from starter motor itself. Investigate both Starter Motor and ECU.

Possibly caused by bad starter solenoid. ECU is linked to a starter relay from my understanding. ECU on the video was of an Audi A5. You could always check 12v supply to a starter on key start position to rule ECU issue away.

Pretty dumb question. But, how do you know if that style of fuse is blown? I didn't see any elements on it or anything like a regular fuse.

You can’t tell unless you do test with multimeter.

@@AutoDasGarage Thanks for the reply! I am struggling to figure out how to get that top panel separated from the bottom to even look at these fuses. Any tips or tricks? Is there something I am missing that's not obvious? It seems like you press in on the six little nubs and pull but no luck so far.

@@TK-xb1pr As far as I remember you need to undo two 10mm bolts + 10mm nut for positive red wire. Move fuse box to the side like on the video, use flat screwdriver carefully open plastic cover at the back. Make sure you unplug battery terminal before doing anything.

Alternatively drive a vehicle for 500m steering fully to left and right. Steering angle should calibrate itself.
