I'm curious about what this room was intended for originally -- because of the built-in cabinetry and shelves. The Ikea pieces mix well with the older furniture. Also, I'm curious about your creative process. Do you decide what you want to make, then go around the room gathering the materials together? I've moved into a different house and stashed everything in the wannabe craft room while painting the other rooms. Now I'm pulling everything out of there to work on the craft room. My "furnishings" are similar to yours. I'm feeling really excited about setting up my room.
@daydreamingtocreate6 ай бұрын
The room was originally a media room by the previous owners. I don't really have a process I guess. I usually end up experimenting and playing around a lot. If I set out to make a journal I usually pull things as I go, occasionally I will gather specific things to use but I usually 'fly by the seat of my pants' when I create. Good luck setting up your room, it is fun to put it all together but also seems to be always evolving. Thanks for watching!

I'm a bit late seeing this video, but I'm happy I found it. I would love to see what a Bible Art Journal is if you ever get a chance to show us. Love your room and you have it organized so well. tfs

So happy you found it too and thank you!! I am kind of new to the Bible art journaling so I don't have a lot to show especially in a Bible but I have some I have done in a journal. I will remember to show in another video. Thanks so much for watching and commenting!

This box for your husband was so cool and a great idea with pictures of your kids and pictures they drew. You had 3 girls and 1 boy, my mom had 3 boys and 1 girl. I’m the baby of the family and there’s 9 years difference between me and my youngest of the brothers.

This was such a fun tour of your craft space. I love old vintage stuff too, so seeing all the different pieces you have was so cool. Do you live in California? I saw a couple of wooden boxes under your island that says Napa Valley on them and you said you got them at a thrift store. I live in Sacramento. Is this craft space in an attic? I was wondering because of the slanted walls and no windows. I love it when I see craft room tours that has mismatch furniture like I do. I love all the different bookcases, shelves, tables, etc. it has more character and when some of the pieces used to be parents/grandparents it has so much more meaning. Thanks for sharing your lovely happy place.
@daydreamingtocreate8 ай бұрын
No, I don't live in CA. I am located in OKC. It isn't the attic but a room the previous owners finished off upstairs for a media room, so no windows. I agree, the mismatch is fun and eclectic then when you mix in pieces from family or friends it makes for great stories or memories. Thank you so much for watching!

That giant salt shaker is actually a powdered sugar shaker called a Muffineer. It would have come with a slender creamer of its same size. It is Lusterware from Japan.

How interesting! They sell hardtack in Gettysburg antique shops that came from the Civil War. Those cloth pieces with the hardtack were probably from a uniform. I believe the beaded star was a pincushion and has some value. The "shell" shaped velvet item looks like it was a needle holder and maybe the pocket things held a pair of scissors? Not sure. Hope your mother is doing better now. Thank you for this series because it has been a lot of fun!
@daydreamingtocreate Жыл бұрын
Oh, yes I think you might be right on the needle holder and scissor holder! I would never have thought of that. And the pieces of fabric with the hardtack is probably part of the uniform. Thank you so much for all your advice I truly appreciate it! Thank you so much for following along with the series!

The linens you called table runners are called dresser scarfs. Ladies in the 50's all kept them on their dressers with a silver tray for their perfume bottles.
