Being a mechanic of over thirty five years expirience, i would have thought that you guys having done a few of these Vans, you would have got or manufactured a puller or small engine lifter to make this enging a doddle to remove, watching this three men struggle to remove an engine, is painfull to watch, easier way would be to drop the front axel.
@madworksgarage5 күн бұрын
Normally it's is easy,but this was a one off.. we do have a engine cradle made for the job but it didn't help much on this occasion.. happy for you to come and remove the next one.. 😁.thanks for the comment.

That would be quite a job to remove the spare wheel, if you had too by the side of the road and added to the fact that it probably would be raining 😮
@kevinthacker83495 күн бұрын
Would prefer to do that ( have help my Dad do one. ) , rather then have a new car with no spare wheel. Having to wait for recovery truck on side of the road.

Judging by that north yorkshire registration, I wouldn't be surprised if the previous owners were the renowned Rea family of Teeside, the Rea family were relatives of singer Chris Rea

It needs pulling out asap .john . It might be recoverable. You got to watc fir the acid erosion from the weeds underneath. Thet can be .A pain . I lost a Austin champ down to that . That becouse I parked in my garden .The plan .When i got a bit of spear time .now Iam retired plus . And i could be doing. Dont forget the the old saying .dont let the crass throw under your feet . Good Luke.

Dad had two vans as work and family transport on a country estate in Shropshire in the 60/70s. Used to pull a land Rover trailer. We called it a Bedford Door mobile. I think one reg was YUJ 6I9. The earlier on was AW - can't remember the rest. Learned to drive in them on estate drives. Three gears and column change.

I used to own a CA Bedford. Just front seats, and a rattling back door. Did long trips rather slowly though. Thing is the rear cargo space was much better than all vans I have driven since. Doors open wide, and it is a true "box shape. Lacked a heater though.

apologies but in all honesty it could do with a different camera position to reduce the no of views of your back and body parts obscuring some of the work being done. it's great stuff to watch if we can see it.
