i love when lesbians just go “i can do that” and then do the thing with no prior experience
@IvanAlejandro996 күн бұрын
I always hear that argument, so this is a genuine question, do lesbians feel sexual attraction to women? or it is something merely romantic?
@Lesbiature5 күн бұрын
Of course lesbians can feel sexual attraction for women. I don’t know who’s having this argument but it’s definitely not lesbians 😅 I expressed my disinterest in sexual imagery because it is too often played up for the wrong reason and not actually a good representation of real lesbian relationships, lifestyle, or emotions. I wanted to read a good relationship story, not look at explicit content.

I tried for over 30 years to complete a novel. Started many and got quite far with a few, but novels require too many words, stories, plots, characters. Then a few years ago I tried short stories. Very, very, very short stories that I recently turned into videos. Loving it. I don't miss writing novels at all. Good luck with your writing goals. They are quite admirable 😊.

there is a really good lesbian manga called she loves to cook and she loves to eat it has 5 volumes so far and doesn't have any sex stuff as one of the main characters is ace. its an adorable slice of life and I highly recommend it.

fun fact! theres actually a few lesbian pulps from before spring fire--a lot of people consider women's barracks (written in 1950) to be the first!
@Lesbiature11 күн бұрын
I did actually find out about Women’s Barracks shortly after finishing this video! I still wanted to keep this up because of the mainstream impact Spring Fire had - I have Women’s Barracks on my shelf and have thought about doing its own video!

Read Priory (and its prequal, which I liked more and was more queer), Gear breakers (even if I try not to read to much YA), and a ton more queer books. Went back to reading Sarah Waters, all the Sarah Waters. Have not read She Who becomes the Sun. Boulder is written in what language originally?
@Lesbiature19 күн бұрын
Boulder was written in Catalan!
@elim240319 күн бұрын
@Lesbiature my Catalan is rusty. I'll recognize 40% based on my Spanish language. I wonder if there is a Spanish translation. The English version sounds lovely!

In the Dream House is so good (though obviously not an easy read). I really enjoyed Last Night as well. I read The Well of Loneliness ages ago and my only recollection is that it's pretty bleak. I love the cover of The Dark Tide, but I watched your year-end video first, so I won't be reading that one. I'm most intrigued by Gideon the Ninth, which is on my TBR as well. And I hear you about being in the mood to read classics (though I find I just need to start reading them, if I really think I should, because the mood doesn't strike me very often!).
@Lesbiature23 күн бұрын
Thank you for your recs! Gideon is also still in my tbr haha and same, I just need to sit myself down and get through some classics

I’d love to hear what you think about The Blacksea Odyssey by J.A. Vodvarka! The trilogy (Unworthy, Unbound, and Unyielding) is, admittedly, not perfect in its prose, but I very much adored the characters and it is *loaded* with sapphic content, including - not one, but TWO enemies to lover’s story lines. I really enjoyed the plot, and haven’t seen much on it as it’s a more recent indie series! Very much recommend though (I tore through the entire series in a couple days as I had a hard time putting it down). It’s an arcane-punk fantasy with gods n whatnot, and a very good time I’d say. I’m also working through Gearbreakers right now, and loving it so far!! Glad to hear that the sequel is just as good, if not better than the first (I typically shy away from series out of fear of that exact problem haha) Great video!! Very happy to have found your channel :D

Oh thank you for this!! Unworthy has been on my radar but I’ve been nervous because I haven’t heard much about it since it’s so new - but you’ve psyched me up to check it out! Also I love that you’re enjoying Gearbreakers! And YES the sequel is so good 😭🫶🏻

@Lesbiature yea the author started doing the stories on Spotify and she has made two of her stories as a book she has quiet a few lesbian stories but I'm guessing you prefer reading than listening. I think she will make the rest of the stories as books eventually tho.

I share the sentiment that lesbian manga has a long way to go to truely cater towards their target audience. I have sifted through a lot of not ideal reads to be once again disappointed that it wasn't what i was looking for which is simply a cute love story between two women where no-one dies and there isn't exesively sexual scenes. Sigh, one day...

Duologies are my jam & I blame Six of Crows for my high expectations of them. I’m on an ever-going quest to find good duologies & totally lacking queer ones. This past year, I did get to the new Aristotle & Dante book that effectively turned that story into a duology. I’m so excited about both of these, thank you for the sapphic recommendations!!

I also loved "She who became the sun"! A book that I read 2024 and which delighted everyone I borrowed it to was the graphic novel "The Princess and the Grilled Cheese Sandwich". It's so funny and like a breath of fresh air :) the art style is really beautiful too and the author even included her own story about her relationship and wedding pictures in her afterword! It's a nice and relaxing read for a sunny afternoon.

My favorite book I read this year was A Long Time Dead. It's a sapphic vampire romance mostly set in 1800s England. It's a bit of a slow burn and I ended up loving that.

Best sapphic book I’ve ever read is “lf tomorrow doesn’t come” it’s so beautiful yet sad at the same time it looks on people’s struggles with mental health at the end of the world but at how love can heal that too. I think it’s best for teenagers but older people probably would enjoy reading it too

Priory was SO over-hyped, SO underwhelming and yes, nothing felt real, because she basically didn't DESCRIBE anything! What a waste of time that one was, for me at least. I love, love hearing about the prose-heavy one, though. I will give it a try ❤️🌈
