Look at the downward head bob of the trainee at 5:09 as he passes the TI. That is the body language of a human being who has been positioned at the absolute bottom of the social hierarchy. And it happened within the first week of arriving at what is arguably the easiest basic training of the four services (former USAF here, not throwing shade). Air Force BMT isn't as flashy as Marine boot is, but the psychological effects it has are profound and lifelong.

I think this zero lunch crap needs to go. When I went through Basic, there was a lot of yelling and screaming (and some guys getting bumped into) but none of this "Mickey Mouse" crap. Let people eat. Our sister flight had to go to sick call because no one had taken a crap in 2 weeks. Stress for no reason. The real AF is not the marine Corp. The AF is not looking for killers, the Corp is. Most of those people will never fire a gun in war. I can understand the need for Security Forces to be tough (try getting people in that field to work out and you will live in the IG office). These films really piss me off. There is a time and place for Basic DI stress but not while one is eating. In the old days, Flight Chiefs used make us (if we were lucky) run into the chow hall and gobble our food down. Then get back on Post and digest your food (you mean vomit). Then once every 6 months go play Army at Vomit Scorpio just to satisfy the huge ego of a "Paper Tiger:. I used to be in a Unit where the commander tried to get the troops to exercise. There was a conspiracy to get him. I tried to stay away from it. I left but I felt bad for this guy. The AF then was filled with "Kitty cats (get it). I was glad to leave.

I was on KP and a rainbow flight of women was finishing up and somehow they got confused and started all walking into the small room that we were in cleaning glasses and stuff. About a dozen confused women started flooding into this tiny room and we sure got our rocks off just because we haven’t even hardly seen a woman in 3 weeks. Yah somehow it was our fault and we had to talk to the senior Sargent bla bla bla.
