This is an AWESOME video and totally explains something I’ve been feeling in my body and exploring my theories on. I have been very sure on my need to strengthen my piriformous to help with the back leg being able to produce force during my gait cycle. That piriformous contraction helps my front femur move through neutral and into internal rotation as it moves from front to back. I’m definitely going to check out your other resources.

What technique is this and where in Oregon can I get one
@LearnMusclescom
@LearnMusclescom 5 ай бұрын
It is traction and could theoretically be done by most any manual therapist… massage therapist, physical therapist, chiropractic physician… but it depends on the specific practitioner. Not every therapist does every technique.

Sir i dont know if you will see my comment but if you do. PLEASE ANSWER: Is aponeurosis a modification of deep fascia?
@LearnMusclescom
@LearnMusclescom 7 ай бұрын
I am not sure what you mean by “modification”, but if we look at the classic separation of fascia into superficial and deep, then the abdominal aponeurosis is deep fascia. It is the melding of the outer fascia of the ext and int obliques and the transversus abdominis.

It is possible for this reason to have foot pain?heels pain and plantar fasciitis, my lower back in this region is weird and look like hiper lordossis but is not hiperlordosis becouse lumbar hiperlordossis is located more upward

It is not very common for SIJ pain and dysfunction to cause heel pain. There is a connection via the superficial posterior line Myofascial meridian, but it is not a usually consequence.

I had my husband lightly try this technique on me. Everything went black. I thought I was either going to pass out or puke. I’ve recently learned that I have thin cervical disc causing spinal compression. Why would this towel method cause such symptoms?
@LearnMusclescom
@LearnMusclescom 10 ай бұрын
First, these techniques should only be done by a professional. Second, this technique does not cause spinal compression in a person who has thinned cervical discs, but it does create a traction force on all the soft tissues, which could, aggravate those tissues. As I wrote in a different post... It is not only a matter of what technique is done, but also how it is done. Traction for the neck will create spinal decompression. But it will also create a pulling/tension force on all the soft tissue. If it is done too forcefully, this can overstretch and/or tear the soft tissues... as well as kick in a muscle spindle/stretch reflex, resulting in a muscle spasm. ... and I will add that it could theoretically, if done to forcefully, aggravate the vertebral arteries. These techniques should be done by professionals who have experience performing this technique, and are able to feel tissue responses.
@dumdum1122
@dumdum1122 10 ай бұрын
First, we did this under professional guidance. Second, we did it because of spinal compression prior to this, thus the need for decompression via traction. Third, as previously stated, it was done lightly and with caution as he was under guidance to learn proper technique. If you were doing this technique and it immediately caused me to blackout for a split, in your opinion, what are some possible underlying causes, that’s my question?
@LearnMusclescom
@LearnMusclescom 10 ай бұрын
First, it is impossible to state with any certainty. To answer your question, to black out means a lack of consciousness, which involves the brain, which would "most likely" occur due to a loss of blood supply to the brain. Done lightly, this technique could not do this. So the second most likely explanation would be a reaction by your nervous system to perceived danger by this technique, which "most likely" occur due to irritation of the proprioceptors from the soft tissue being tractioned. I strongly recommend that you consult your physician, who would have a full history and could do a physical exam to rule in and rule out any possible causes. @@dumdum1122

Whatever technique that can help can, if applied too forcefully or without proper warm up, can cause potential injury. Generally, pain is a signal that either tissue damage is occurring or the nervous system fears that potential tissue damage will occur. I cannot speak to how assertive any specific physician's or therapist's treatment should be. That is a case-by-case determination. If you are concerned, perhaps you should discuss this with your chiropractic physician?

Yes. When the muscles dry out, they will look like beef jerky. If someone was in good shape until the end, the muscles of that individual can be quite thick and strong.
