We have tone of voice, but it doesn't change the word entirely! That's the challenge. Hànzì is easier, for me, than pronunciation.

Go home. I can only understand Cantonese and I can tell you it’s easier to watch the Chinese-mainland made drama compared to Taiwan-made stuff because Taiwan-Mandarin is so far off that unless you are a native you can’t even understand. Thus, it’s more crisp for mainland content.

I love that Polish is my native language cause we have all initial chinese sounds in our language, so that's one less part I have to learn
