Are you from Netherlands? If so I am from Norway and been living here on disabled benefits from Norway. Not the cheapest country to live in but for me Netherland and Norway seem pretty equal. (I do however is close to max benefit as it is calculated from your income from 3 best of last 5 year before you got sick (they are very difficult and they don't know how to calculate so I hope I soon will get max as I should (for me only like 200€ pr month, however 10 yrs adds up. My former girlfriend got stiffed for like 800€/mnth and probably close to 1000 now. (10yrs I got 100 to little.) I don't get any advantage like 50% discount on public transportation here when disabled. I also like the max income for some places that you can afford if low income (I don't qualify as earn to much, however good for me.) I think it's a good system tho. Not sure how much you need to pay for insurance. Because of Eec Norway pay my insurance, however I need to pay taxes for that. (7% of my brutto income (I think that's the same as people who work which is pretty insane. How much does an insurance cost? I think I pay 3000€ for my health coverage per year (or something around there) we also have about the same 385€ before you get free medication/doctors however in Norway most medication don't count, I also think thing like tests/xray don't either. So basically only appointments count. Anyway, without really knowing how the social security here works I am not sure. It sound on my neighbor which got disability after covid we get about the same. (However I have some tax refund left in Norway, when I used that up I only will pay max 15% tax (30+ normal). We do have musquitos but they are not really a big problem here. Most get eaten by wildlife. But there is also our unie van waterschappen, the union of watermanagement (one of the oldest democratic unions in modern Europe) whom work together with local fishermen associations to keep the amount of fish on a healthy level. It is quite a lot of trouble to manage and fine tune a contruction like Holland. I work in Den Helder which lies in the north of Holland. And a seal broke into our sweet water works in the city canals, about 5 years ago. Seals normally live in the salt waters of the north sea, but they do fine in sweet water as well. It was also pregnant with a cub. The two of them proceded to eat for about 4000 euros, per year, of fish that was released by the local fishermen association. Seals consume about 4 kg of fish a day. But unfortunatly due to our fetish for dumb laws, rules an regulations we can not do anything about these ecological terrorists. They get the fun to yeet every fis they see out of existence. Sometimes they just take a single bite and move on to the next.... And we are not allowed to cancel their subscription on life because they are on the red list of endangered species. Living here in these parts is just highly problematic.

Actually we are constantly flooding, the trick is just, to keep on pumping excess water away, if the pumps would stop, in a few weeks time things would start to flood all over the place.. So..., we are flooding, every rain drop falling has to either evaporate, or has to be pumped away into the sea.., the system of ditches, canals, rivers and lakes, pumps and sluices, it all works together, to regulate the water... let it out, or even let some water in if the water evaporates faster than it comes in through rain..
