I recorded with Susan when I was in Q-South in NYC in the 90's she was so professional and we were in such disarray and she never broke stride...we were trying to keep the band together, bad record deals and my brother had died...so i was not in the best mindset...but the album still holds up...not shortly after.... i luckily regained my focus and recorded with Machel Montano and Alison Hinds and dipped my foot in Soca....I just hope she sees this...thank you Dr Susan Rogers for producing Q-South...w

Wow, what a lovely note. What was the album you recorded with her? I'll be sure to mention this. Thanks Walker!

@@Zahra.Shakti Q-South was the name of the band and the album....we were in the end of our run as a group and she was terrific. I always felt I owed her an apology for being such a mentally distant mess at the time...but she was great and the record still sounds amazing 28 years later

What an enlightening interview, I am a member of the REMIX family and I have been looking for this interview for months. Prince also moved me deeply in my youth. The energy in his music gave me life and very much matched my own creative drive, passion and focus in my own art form. I can really relate to the conversation about "children know who they are" I always have known who I am and what my gifts are. It is a beautiful confirmation and it helps my process of incubation, I sometimes feel guilty about the time I spend creating. Susan is a beautiful light, I appreciate her sharing her experience with us🥰

Thank you for this interview. I am a Prince fanatic/obsessive for 35 years now. This was a very rare interview that unearthed new information and insight. I've seen Susan Rogers being interviewed many times and it's always great, but its almost always the same questions sparking the same stories (how many times must she tell us how he set up his snare sound?). Your approach was far more humanistic and that sparked new memories and thoughts from this incredible woman.

How ironic is it that when prince hired Dr. Rogers little did he know how much he would wind up learning from her. She was a teacher all along.

Ms. Habib, I am 13 minutes in and fascinated by Dr. Rogers and your interview. I love how after all these years since prince passed Susan is still very thoughtful and respectful when she talks about the Purple Yoda. Your style of interviewing is very unique by the way. I am learning everyday is a gift by watching and hearing folks talk about their love for prince so... Thank You 4 thi$ interview.😸

Wow good luck with this new pod cast, I love Susan. Great guest. I still want a Netflix series based on her life. What an incredible life. I wish to one day get her to sign my Purple Rain album which i think it's the greatest album ever produced.

Yeah it is up there but Parade and Sign of the times are right up there with Purple Rain.

@@phunkidruma yes but they are not perfect albums. Sign O The Times was way too long and too many un necessary songs. Purple Rain is the perfect album.
