14 years ago I would watch this daily (along with Caleb's other drum covers) after getting back home from my first job. My uncle would always be sitting behind me on his first year rehabbing from a stroke and he'd say something really silly about the video in a "how do you do fellow kids" way. He passed away a month ago and that's one little detail I remember about this. Don't say "I'm sorry" or feel like I'm trying to draw a reaction, lol. I just felt like pointing that out because golly gee, 2010-11 feels like yesterday.

I remember growing up with this dude's covers. Brianstorm, View from the afternoon, Crying lighting. Used to hear them all on repeat and being able to return to them after all this time is a weird feeling. If callen is reading, I just want to thank you for the memories. Always loved your covers and they have a special place in my memories.

I’m not sure how I’ve not seen this before, but I’m a 62 year old East London guy and I think that Silent Alarm is the best debut album I’ve ever heard. Matt Tong held that magnificent album together with his precision percussion (you can’t call it drumming, that’s demeaning) and to this day I can’t think of more than a handful of drummers who could better him. To this kid, who I’ve not heard of before; to nail one of my favourite BP tracks as good as this - if I was wearing a hat right now I’d be taking it off to you. I hope you’re making a career with your skills right now.
