I watch your channel to get ideas for tying flies for pike and musky. Always pick up something useful from your lure videos. I like the long fiber tail and wouldn’t trim it. But, might be interesting to test some with shorter tails for comparison. Great video! Thanks.

Very nice result even though the "big lure for big pike"...... :) Nice job Norbert and I definitively wouldn't cut the tail

I love these. Soft plastics should be banned. Millions of pounds are polluting waters and wastefully killing fish. I wonder if there's "Premium" grades of that yarn? Might last longer. I want to try things like wrapping it around some small rubber or silicone tube, like for slingshots. Also wrap it on some heavy cotton cord or thick mono or flouro fishing line to maybe strengthen and secure it. Definitely much more durable than plastics. Thanks!!!

Hey ! Thanks for your comment, not sure if there is a stronger type out there, but if you get one roll of it you will have enough for generations to come lol.

Do you use spot lock? I've built a motorized mount for my livescope transducer to operate independently from my Terrova. I've honestly had more fun building & improving the mount than using the livescope! I fish water with lots of pleasure boaters and the waves can get big for a lake. I struggle knowing exactly where livescope is pointed and rarely able to see my bait/lure if it's anything smaller than an Alabama Rig. I've considered putting on trolling motor just to eliminate uncertainty about where transducer is pointed. This is a simple yet genius idea!
@NorbertRenaud19 күн бұрын
I try not to use spot lock too much with the live, especially on windy days where it moves way too much, if too much wind i like to be se a drift sock and let the boat drift along an area that I want to fish and use the trolling motor like if the scope is on a pole . Much easier to manage and see things. I also like to use it going upwind with the trolling motor so the boat won’t move a much and set the speed so I travel very slow. On days without wind it’s a lot easier! But those are rare here lol. Thanks for your comment!

@NorbertRenaud I wonder what the sitting position on this belly boat looks like. I mean, how far the thighs are extended from the seat, do the knees have much freedom of movement?
@NorbertRenaudАй бұрын
@@_pike_angler_ this is one of the highest position i have been on any float tubes i have ever tried.I compare the sitting position similar as fishing from a pontoon.Water sits below your knees, plenty freedom of movement , the seat is adjustable , very similar to a fishing kayak seat .Hope that helps.

does your paint ever affect the movement of the joints?
@NorbertRenaud2 ай бұрын
When I started painting lures it did, I quickly realised to go very light handed for the paint.. and more importantly the clear coating as it dries it could drip down the joints and mess up all the work.

Great instruction...What density of the brush works best ....? Using my own brush with only Kanekelon wig hair...the fly didn't wiggle when stripped straight , the tail reacted more than the body.
@NorbertRenaud4 ай бұрын
Hey there! I like to make my game changers with Congo hair ( ep fibres) it holds more water and helps the fly to anchor in the water more and helps with movement. I also like to blend Kanekalon with Congo and angel hair 50/40/10 ratio ish 😉 it helps create a lighter version easier to cast but still hold some water
