Boy, the title of this post did not age well. Especially if you live in the areas of the blue ridge mountain where hurricane related flooding happened. Beautiful house though!

Fortunately, this area did not receive the damage like Asheville saw. Those are rare events, unlike places like Florida that may see one of more every year.

2018 list price was $202,000.00 - 2022 list price was $311,000.00 in 4 years it went up to $109,000.00 Aug or Sept of 2022 it jumped up to $2.5 million. Today they went $1.5 million, it's not worth it. You are paying inflationary price, I wouldn't pay over $1million for this property. On crimegrade it got a score of C.

Your comment is certainly appreciated. However, comments should be based on accurate knowledge, not opinions. For example, some of the numbers you gave were accurate, but for an uncompleted home. Using AVM’s like Zestmates, etc, do not give a full picture. As you will read on such sites, they will often tell you this is a, “starting point”. Giving a price for a home someone has never visited is outside of being professional. As a broker, I never give anyone a suggested price without touring the property and then doing a CMA. Market areas are also different, as are home finishes. For example, in our area within 30 miles, construction costs can go from $250/sq.ft. to $750/sq.ft. While I can appreciate why some people may not trust brokers (like some do not trust doctors), not all are the same. Having insight to these differences is what helps a broker in assisting both buyer and seller clients. As an Accredited Buyers Representative and a Certified Pricing Strategy Advisor, I work for my clients best interests and am fair to all. I have lived and worked in this area since 1973 and know this market very well. My clients are important to me and often are repeat clients. If you would like to know more about this home so you can have accurate knowledge and make an informed decision, please feel free to reach out to me or another local broker. And again, thank you for your comment.
@paratrooperlane70224 ай бұрын
@@ramblinrick4u You can say what you want. The home is NOT worth the price listed. If you look at a sell graph from 2018 and today's date..............This is the proof anyone needs. You are PUSHING an inflationary home price. Only a fool would buy this house!

I understand that it was Samuel Picketts, not Anderson Drake, who saved guard Fleet Foster. If this is true, could it be corrected here? If I'm wrong, please let me know where to find the evidence. Anne Chesky Smith (Asheville Citizen-Times, Western NC Historical Society) has written and given talks indicating it was Picketts, not Drake.

Hi Rick, well talk about selling homes. We sold ours in Washington State closing on November 4. And moved to Durham, bought a house I found in Timberlake NC. Trying to stay close to Durham , where Glen’s son Jeff and his wife Jules lives. We closed on the 15 of December. And we are living back in NC. It is really pretty here. I would call it horse country. But yet we are minutes from shopping. It is the biggest house Glen and I have ever had. It is around 2000 sq ft. Three bedrooms and a big bonus room upstairs for Glen. I took over the formal dining room of my office and Zoom room. It has pretty hardwood floors,except for the bedrooms and bonus room. So Glen is going to take out carpet ( which I am allergic to ) and put in LVP and paint. No one had lived here for six years. Due to a family emergency. The neighborhood is nice. The houses are not close together. I wish I could send you pictures.

The hard part for me is the stories that are told that are not factual. People like their stories.
@maryawkward168 Жыл бұрын
Some stories, like this one, and I'll wager there are many more, are so egregious that "hiding" them is seen as a benefit. The truth eventually is revealed. Preventing the education system to allow things like this to be allowed in schools, is another way at attempting to hide shameful history, but we all need to know the past history to prevent it ever happening again.

There is soooo much more to this story. In fact, there were over 400 men that died on this section through Asheville and Dillsboro over the years. This was just the largest, single number tragedy on "The Road." It is actually heart rendering to see how humans can act. Makes Ecclesiastes 8:9 very clear.
@sharrigarvin33482 жыл бұрын
Very Sad given the time of this tragedy there were probably men that didn't commit any crime at all. If you were Black and just walking around without papers you could be picked up. Another sick part to this story there was a prisoner who tried to help but couldn't he was given 30 years
