Carl, I appreciate you leading Johnnie down memory lane once again. I got to know Johnnie in the mid 80's when he was painting, and I worked for Quality Builders Supply. We had the opportunity to also be at some of the same music venues throughout the years, whether churches or school functions. He was always the same, humble Johnnie. Thanks again, for having him on your program.

A joy to watch this series. Josh is a standout among positive humans. He accepts the unacceptable and blesses all with his giftings. So gifted. We, as a county, are blessed to have Anchor Ridge.

Thank you, Carl, for this presentation. Dustin and Nicole are fine young folks who definitely care about their community and customers. We've enjoyed the service from Deal Insurance since Randy and Sherrie started the business. Always dependable and always friends.

I must need to spend more time at the library because I couldn't move my eyes fast enough to read the entire definition of "Wonderfullist" 😂 Very interesting interview! As a history buff, I'll have to take a look at the books.

Great way to start the week, thank you fellers. Ken may be one of the greatest "artifacts" that we have in Wilkes County. Always enjoy a good story time Mr. Carl. By the way Carl, and I mean this in a wonderful way, you remind me so much of Floyd the barber from Mayberry. Has anyone else ever mentioned that resemblance? Thank again for a great show,

@@rickcooper6817 Well Rick you are the first to mention that. I do tend to be a good listener and I'm very curious so we would have that in common and then of course the mustache. Thanks for watching and thanks for sharing.

David Johnson is THE most talented musician (and nicest celebrity) I have ever had the pleasure to meet. I don't think there is an instrument he can't play.

Love Jim & Kathy!! And love this interview...it's been a long time since I lived in the area, but when I met Jim & Kathy and went to Talia, they welcomed me with open arms. We have been friends ever since. I used to joke that Talia was a line item in my budget the coffee is so good!! And what an incredible space they have created for community!! I've not been in the area to visit any of their other locations, but I'm sure they're the same.

Great broadcast. Wonderful seeing David. I was fortunate enough to have David work his magic on two of my albums. He is simply the finest musician I've ever been around, and a great human being as well. If I had to pick just one musician to label a hero it would be David Johnson.

Thanks Carl, for all the wonderful stories. I've really enjoyed story time with Ken. I got to know Ken around 1974 or 1975 while he was with 3WC. I was in advertising at Lowes Food in Wilkesboro and always looked forward to his weekly call on us and the jokes he would share. I always look for him and his pup walking in the mornings if I'm in town. Keep up this great program, Carl. Happy belated birthday Mr. Ken!

how so ? elaborate. ill just tag my initial comment to this: "well, its not that way anymore" [said in a disappointed, disgruntled tone] yeah, well...that's called common and normal human adventure, "expedition", based on both curiosity, and seeking wealth (gold, etc). p.s. has been happening all throughout human history/civilization. I find it disgusting for people to "invent" ways to make it appear that the w-ite man was the inventor and sole group to do such things, to include conquest. crack a book, a history one at that.

Incredible that this guy's lead-in answer to the first question is "I tax people in Wilkes county to benefit outsiders" wow just wow, can we fire him
@visitwilkesnc4 ай бұрын
that's not what I said. Visitors pay an occupancy tax when they stay in local lodging like hotels and short term rentals that money stays in wilkes to benefit wilkes citizens and market to tourists. the only way Wilkes County citizens will pay is if they stayed in a short term lodging IN Wilkes. Thanks to visitor spending in Wilkes each household saves more than $500 on their personal and property taxes.
