In regards to your close sow encounter: that’s why I ALWAYS wear a S&W 357 magnum on my hip. I’ve had a boar charge me while deer hunting and fired my rifle in his direction. Thankfully he turned and ran in front of me and then down into a bowl. That was a difficult situation y’all were in. Glad she wasn’t aggressive. Might be good to carry, besides a handgun, an air horn. That might deter them. Only reason she wouldn’t leave is because of the cub and food is very important.
