@@independenceltd. Crosby's is a very tragic tale. Another unfortunate casualty of the rock and roll circus. He had a nice bluesy style, but shredding was all the rage in the 80's until people came back to their senses a few years later. Too late for Robben though.

Nice. I need to beef up my non-Cream Jack Bruce material. Purple-esque is kind of a lazy description on my part, mainly due to the Hammond-type synths. Nice looking set. Way back in time, circa 1978 I had a vinyl copy of David Coverdale's Whitesnake - liked about half of it. Then about 15 or so years ago I got a CD compilation that combined songs from both it and Northwinds. Again liked about half of everything I heard on it. Picked up Into The Light in 2001...at first didn't like it much at all, but it has grown on me over the years. Most of the songs on those discs are quite sedate and mellow. Am interested in your takes on each of those three albums once you have been able to take them for a few spins.
@independenceltd.19 күн бұрын
I think that compilation you're talking about goes for around $50 now. I started with disc 6 cuz it has the oldest material. I expected it to be mellow, but the wide range of music caught me off-guard. especially how much deep-southern delta blues inspired tunes were on it. some bordering on country ballads. some ragtime thrown in; gospel, etc. i'm with you so far; half i like, half has a tendency to blend into the background.
