I'm very disappointed with one feature of this tester and that is the Component Tester, I have a bunch of old Germanium transistors and this instrument doesn't report them as transistors but either as two diodes or two resistors, my long standing Multi-function Tester TC1, correctly identifies them as functioning PNP transistors.

In general, the oscilloscope, multimeter and signal generator are not bad. In my copy (firmware 1.7.1.5), the capacitance measurement is extremely inaccurate (1% capacitor 106 pF measures as 33 pF, 0.5% capacitor 6800 pF measures as 6300 - 6400 pF), the oscilloscope measures the frequency of its own signal generator extremely inaccurately. The rest is acceptable for now.
@ElectroBananasYTАй бұрын
Thank you for sharing this information. I am seeing similarities during my tests.
@ivanyou5795Ай бұрын
I wrote about it yesterday, but the message was deleted (perhaps because of the link given) ... About measuring the frequency with an oscilloscope: as already written on a well-known forum, the oscilloscope incorrectly determines the frequency of the signal. In my instance, this happens on channel 1, the second channel determines the frequency CORRECTLY! I wonder how it is on your oscilloscope?
@ElectroBananasYTАй бұрын
Thanks for this. How unusual! I will finish my tests this weekend and will let you know. I assume this is also with firmware 1.7.1.5?
@ivanyou5795Ай бұрын
@@ElectroBananasYT Yes, this is also on firmware 1.7.1.5. That is, the first channel cannot measure the frequency correctly, and the second one measures everything correctly (I used the FY6900-100M signal generator for testing, with its BNC-BNC cables, the MCX-BNC adapter used a different, shorter one.). By the way, the rectangular signal is still somehow visible that it is rectangular, up to a frequency of 16-18 MHz. After 61 MHz, the oscilloscope almost does not see the signal (well, that's understandable, no one promised us anything else). Well, the multimeter greatly underestimates the capacitance measurement readings (in the lower range, and, let's say, 4700 UF, it already overestimates a little). Apparently, it will not be possible to adjust this.

Thanks, nice review. Can you tell me how many kpts the 64kbyte memory corresponds to? Is it the same in all time bases, or is it like 1013d, 1014d? Compared to the Owon HDS272, which only has 4/8 kpts, the pattern was more detailed for the Owon. I noticed a bug with mine that the coupling with the channel remained in AC. I switched to DC but it had no effect. I noticed it while watching a low frequency square wave. after several switches and restarts it worked. One more comment from me. The zoyi was not in DC coupling, so the real wave of the Fnirsi was not visible properly. It was not visible how big the DC offset was.

@@ElectroBananasYT Yes currently i have some, HDS272S, HDS2202, DPOX180H, 1103D, sigpeak dso1511e+, Micsig To1104, Micsig STO2202C and Rigol HDS924S. I was very disappointed with the 1103D when I tested it, it was my first scope, then I bought the sigpeak.😐 sometimes the Fnirsi release something good and useful, but later they destroy it.😱 Fortunately, the SG-004A that I have is good😎, but something was messed up in the later editions, I think they wanted to save money and caused inconvenience to the customers.😱😭 The most obvious is the radioactivity meter, the first series was still good, the others already contained cheaper tubes, they also saved money on the tube voltage adjustment circuit, etc.😡 I don't think Fnirsi is reliable. Owon is not perfect either, they also have bugs in their products, but you can at least notice the higher quality attitude. DPOX180H bugs have not been fixed yet. They know about the faulty part, two capacitors. But it wasn't fixed. They lied in the specifications of the 1013D and 1014D. I intended the 2C53P for my brother, because he is a simple electrician, but if this scope knew what was written about it in the spec, then it would have been very good for him. I've had problems with it so far. 1. AC DC coupling bug. 2. I can't handle the display properly with my finger, probably because it was designed for people with smaller fingers. It doesn't have band control. I mean that the trigger can only be set up on the right side, down in a thin band. The channel can only be moved up and down on the left side. And the trigger time in the upper bar. The measurement can be done in the middle of the screen. Or something similar. sensibly thought through. 3. when I press pause on it and start pulling it apart on the time axis, there are times when the wave does not change and it is not possible to go below a certain magnification. This scope doesn't work like any of my other scopes. I tested the memory by setting the two scopes, the HDS272 and the 2c53P, to the same time base, adding a higher frequency square signal to both. I pressed pause on them and started zooming in on it. I trust Owon, if it says 8kp, then 8k is the point in each time base. I would probably guess 5-10 kp, depending on the time base. It's not 100% accurate, and it's quite an unpleasant procedure, but at least it gives a good approximation. At least more believable than what Fnirsi described. But using the 1013D as an example, the available memory changes depending on the time base setting. And since it can only be saved as an image, it can't be saved in .csv, so I can't count it. not like in the case of Owon. 4. The bug was that the wave could not be moved to the side after the pause. 5. I wouldn't dare to use the part of the multimeter above 400V, it doesn't seem safe. I didn't just mean the fusible fuse, but its entire design. If something goes wrong, and the arc is zig-zagging inside, I don't think the action reaction of Lithium would be funny. Its signal generator is usable, but has a small DC offset that increases with frequency. I prefer to calculate the frequency of a device from the rise time of the square wave signal, using a single trigger, because then there is no chance that skilled programmers oversampling the signal. averaging and other clever algorithms. But this scope cannot be measured that way, only with your method. Anyway, it would be a good scope. It's just that I 6. At a higher frequency, the scope needs more data to calculate the frequency of the wave. My other scopes tell me in a period or two...

Hello, thank you for your very comprehensive reply. And thank you for all the bugs / observations that you have shared. I will take a look at those to see if they exist with the latest firmware when I do the functional review. I would not want to give this to an electrician - they may try and use the DMM on AC mains - I would not trust it. You do have a lot of scopes!!! Your response seemed to be truncated? Thanks again, ElectroBananas
@juhaszpeter47962 ай бұрын
@@ElectroBananasYT If I have some time, I'll try to put some insulation around the DMM panel. 1000V rated huh funny... The thicker green "plastic" adhesive tape used inside the equipments might be enough. i will do wrap around. I also left out why the parameter where there are only two pieces, such as AC/DC coupling, must be set to that rotary crap, why can't it just be a switch or button? I still have to think about the rest, whether it's an user error or a bug.🤔 Yes, as soon as I outgrew one and bought the next one, I kept the older one out of nostalgia.😎 Some are now on loan to a friend. It comes in handy when you can examine two or more independent signals at the same time, and you can solve them with three small hand-held instruments. Of course, this also depends on use. When I just need to look at the frequency change or simple signal distortion, etc. Or when my dear colleague cannot decide with his multimeter whether he is measuring ACV, DCV or AC+DCV. it comes in handy for the cheaper illustrative tool.🤣 I'm really looking forward to your next video, I'm also very interested in your full opinion on it.

Excellent review, thank you for your work and your time. I have the same one, firmware 2.0.1, do you think it should be updated to 2.0.2? Thanks a lot.
@ElectroBananasYT2 ай бұрын
Hello, glad you found the videos useful. YOU MUST BE VERY CAREFUL IF YOU INTEND TO UPGRADE THE FIRMWARE. As of May 2024, I have this following information: Firmware V2.0.2 is only intended to fix issues with an older version of hardware. If used on the latest version of hardware, the upgrade will fail and the device will not start - you will have bricked your device. I think this is why FNIRSI took down the firmware from their website - I suspect that there were many users bricking their devices by trying to download load 2.0.2 to a device with a newer version of the hardware. To determine if you have the ‘old’ or ‘new’ version of hardware, go to settings and see if you can see the hardware version displayed (hardware may be V0.4 or later). If you cannot see any hardware version, then you have the older version of harware. If a device already has the latest version of hardware (V0.4 as of May 2024) a firmware update is not required as it would have been shipped with the latest version of firmware for that hardware (V2.0.1). If you have the older version of hardware, then you can upgrade the firmware to V2.0.2. I know, very confusing. If you have bricked your device, contact FINIRSI by email / whatsapp. They are usually responsive and helpful.
