I'm not sure that therapists should be giving blanket advice over the internet. Every person is unique and needs specialized personalized treatment. Dr K actually probably unethically conducted a discussion with a Twitch streamer a few years ago who ended up killing themselves. (I'm not saying Dr K caused it) but therapy is a highly personal thing that probably shouldn't be broadcast on the internet because folks may misdiagnose themselves based on these sessions. There are more ethical questions that I wonder about, but I'll leave it at that.

Destiny is an idiot. Most that think like him are. All they need to do is go and see for themselves. They won’t ever go. Instead of helping ppl like they say they want to they go to a nice spot to vacation and throw out accusations and crap from their mouth without ever actually knowing what ppl go through every single day

I’m surprised Kyla didn’t understand the under supply of labour pushes up prices as firms and companies have to offer high wages to attract the remaining talent left in the labour pool to meet demand of business. That shocked me, that’s established in the supply of labour and the demand construct.

I wanted to offer a different perspective and explore this conversation with more gentleness and nuance. When you speak about mental health diagnoses, I hear a desire to encourage people to grow and take responsibility for their lives. This is a beautiful intention. Yet, I feel it's also important to recognise that everyone's journey is unique, and for some, naming their limitations is not a crutch but an act of courage and a first step toward acceptance and healing, not a "red flag". Life doesn't always provide clear paths forward. Not all diagnoses come with simple solutions; sometimes, acknowledging "I can't" is a step toward finding what's possible. For others, learning to live alongside their struggles without immediate answers is a profound act of resilience. I wonder if there is space to hold these truths as well: that not everyone is ready to take action right away and that their readiness doesn't diminish the value of their experience. Healing isn't always about solving; it's also about embracing, sitting with what is, and allowing ourselves to move at the pace life allows. Your voice has the power to inspire. I hope it might also make space for other tender realities that many face-the complexities, the pauses, and the moments when simply being present with our limitations is enough.

Is it really a nuclear family if you are living with uncles, aunts, grandparents, some father's childhood friend thats basically part of the family, your cousins, etc? Nuclear family specifically stated that is 2 parents a son and a daughter, traditional families where far from it when even your neighbors were pretty much part of the family

When Dr. K described interactions between political adversaries as 'screaming into the void because nobody listens' it resonated with me a lot. More and more conversations are framed as or will quickly transform into a debate. As a result the goal or aim of the conversation shifts from f2p coöp mode (dialogue) towards solo campaign final boss fight (debate). It already starts with the terms 'left' and 'right' being mutually exclusive opposites of each other whilst generally speaking people want the same basic things. Safety, security, enough materials or resources to have our basic needs met, meaningful relationships, a sense of belonging etc. Social media highlights the 'delta' which is putting pressure on the very thing that's made relatively peaceful internal political divide possible: democracy. We've taken democracy for granted and therefore neglected it. Similar to Dr K's take on people 'getting in their own way' on a national level.

I used to be very emotionally charged about things I thought I was “right” about. Now I realize it was jsut through the lens of how I personally see things. And now I do what he says, I try to understand where the other person is coming from. Even if I still disagree at least I can see better on why they feel the way the do vs how I see things

You have to be OT to go OT. "You're the upper 10th, of the upper tenth, you should somehow.. just glean the knowledge from your past life.." So, Scientology is basically.. homeopathic psychiatry.

"A cancer is what happens when a cell forgets how to die" has a haunting side in my eyes. Because it begets the question to ourselves. If we, as a person, or as a species, forgot how to die, what are we but cancer?

No different in Africa. I used to work in west Africa and the toilet was a hole busted in the floor that ran out into the ditch beside the road. That’s ok, there’s going to be a financial switch real soon. Africa is going to become very rich and America is going to become very poor. It’s in the works with brics right now. Good for them, they deserve to prosper for once

I am curious about Scientology from the abstract perspective, comparative to actual 'religions'; it has always sounded to me from descriptions going back as far as Time Magazine's expose in the 90s; that Scientology's 'strengths' and failings are that it is literally so SHALLOW because it is literally written entirely by L Ron Hubbard. Who fundamentally, was never a particularly GOOD science fiction author. The ability of Abrahamic religions, or Buddhism, or Shinto or Hinduism to endure for millenia is precisely because they have theological study, debate and differentiation. Did any of them have some basis in reality, or actual events that occurred thousands of years ago? Maybe, but the important part is the interpretation of the meanings and the results - that's what keeps it relevant and appealing to believers, the fact that they're 'allowed' to take their own meaning from it instead of being forcefed like a prisoner on a hunger strike.. Scientology is, and has never been deeper than something a fat old drug addict's fever-brain shit onto paper so he could grift it. And that sums up what everyone else who controls it has been.

Interesting that ALL religions believe in this "IMMORTALITY" idea , in one variation or another. One thing i do owe the JWS for, is for showing me from my own bible that , "The dead Know Nothing" , Ecclesiastes 9:4/5 , Until they are resurrected in the future. If we are immortal the process is AUTOMATIC , where as the bible clearly shows the process is CONTINGENT apon Gods Action. !!

One of the problems is that two sides aren't actually seeing each other because they've been splinted off into our own little bubbles, their echo Chambers, and it's in these echo chambers that they're encouraged on all sides. We do need is Open Sourced decentralized democratized social media platforms that promote positivity love rather than rage and hate. Or the very least allow us to control who we share our messages with and who we talk with rather than going through a filter that is corporate social media

i think a lot of this stems from normies gaining access to the internet and not realizing we did all this in forums and early social media like, 20+ years ago and they missed it. Computer and internet use was out of reach for so many people up until the smart phone. I guess the difference is you can monetize it now.

Only in america are these idiotic cults capable of finding enough low IQs and fools to get off the ground. Other religions are also cons, but they do tell a more believable tale - as long as you suspend your appreciation for all that’s around you. They’re all about control. Scientology takes this to an extremity that beggars belief, having stripped all external support systems from their members - who are in reality victims. The likes of Cruise and Travolta who enable this whole schtick are greatly responsible for much recruitment into its ranks of inadequates who are the mainstay of their “member-base”. And America allowing this evil organisation to. enjoy tax free status as a “religion” goes to show what a country of misguided twats is the USA…

In terms of historical accuracy and a proper scholarly analysis, it's true that history should not be measured across modern moral values. While this adds context to the objectivity issue, it should also be stated here that many people judge the history and the characters who inhabited it in terms of modern morality often due to modern people's obsession with the past to almost a borderline level of fetishization. There are atavistic romanticization like how in the past everything was so perfect. Then, it's become a duty to measure the supposed perfect moral world against the yardstick of misery vs contentment. I mean if everything was so hunky dory when apparently gods were physically walking on the earth, how come democracies started cropping up so late in the history of human civilization. There are moral questions of independent court systems, suffrage movement, civil rights issues, equality and inclusivity, voting rights, slavery abolition, a matter of equal shares in parental property, dowry prevention, witchcraft, minority rights etc etc. Many and i mean many countries still to this date have been struggling with these issues. Imagine what it must have been like in the olden days. And i am not even talking about scientific and technological advancements; diseases, natural disasters etc. Sure, we have problems of our own making when it comes to climate change, online addiction, isolation and mental illnesses and others, but so far as things are being documented at least nobody is gonna emphatically claim that things were so much better in the 2000s or 2020s when nostalgia would kick in the form of positive memory bias in 2100s or something. Denmark, a country which secures its place regularly at the top 10 of gender equality list as recent as 1960s used to put women whom they considered "easy and loose" confined to an island Sporgø, I mean what the heck! Of course historical events and personalities should not be judged based on contemporary moral and ethical standards but if they are worshipped, statues are being made and garlands are still being put and celebrations are observed by marking a specific day on the calendar for them, then at least questioning their dark parts or at least shining light on that should also be deemed as an objective parameter catering to scientific temperament and critical thinking. If the gods were wandering around establishing monarchies and participating in what today would be considered evil practices, why couldn't they decree against those or at least protest or lambast to a certain extent! Because, certainly humans gradually bring about those changes through mass movements and policy changes, so Gods might have been, seeing the omnipotent and prescient nature of their capabilities.
