You are the Ambassador for Jacksonville! So, where else have you lived and what made you pick Jax?

Hi Justin! I’ve lived in Baltimore, Maryland, Savannah, Georgia, San Diego, California, and Honolulu, Hawaii. Jacksonville is the perfect place to call home. You are essentially located between Orlando, Tampa, Savannah, and Charleston, there’s an international airport, there is live music, good restaurants, beaches, not too hot, not too cold, lots of outdoor activities.

I am looking at Jax beach for my next home! I live in Las Vegas. The cons for Jax for me are humidity, bugs and high homeowners insurance. Are these valid cons for Jax?
@LivinginNortheastFlorida
@LivinginNortheastFlorida 6 ай бұрын
I would agree with those cons. This month has been brutally hot so far and the bugs are bad. But most of the year the weather is perfect.

Very well done video, and I just subscribed. I'm down in Miami. Our daughter lives in Orlando, my brother is in Middleburg, and I have a half-sister in Gainesville. We are in our upper 50's and we may want to retire elsewhere. I'm just poking around to see what our options are.

LOL love the humor in here. And Omigosh yes, there’s always construction going on. I even wondered is it just FL that’s always changing the name of the highways lol. When I first moved to FL, there so many differences. I miss the four seasons living in the east coast. But in FL, we sure do skip some seasons lol. Or should I say we live in the weathers of two seasons at the same time. We have to wear a coat in the morning and flip flop for the afternoon lol.

I love Jacksonville Florida❤ I have lived here for 5 years and Jacksonville keeps getting better and better. After living in multiple areas in Jax I have figured it out. Like most large cities there are good areas and bad areas. Jax is a huge massive city land wise. I would say 40% of Jax is low income high, crime, and neglected "Bad" areas. These are near downtown on the Westside, Downtown on the eastside north of stadium, alot of east arlington, near St Nicholas... These areas are lower income or economically disadvantaged. Generally speaking the majority of the entire west side of jacksonville is lower income or lower middle class. Where is the best places to live then? If your family is making near or over 6 figures you would enjoy buying in a middle to upper middle class area you should consider Bartram, Communities in St Johns County, Mandarin, The Beaches Jax Beach, Neptune Beach, Atlantic Beach, Ponte vedra Beach, Generally anything East of 295 beltway toward the beach.

I grew up in Mandarin and lived most of my time in Jacksonville (1998-2020) in that area. I lived off Loretto RD, in Oasis of Mandarin behind Walmart, and in the Windermere neighborhood. I graduated from Mandarin High in 2000 and was even stationed in Mayport for 2 years. Most of these tours I see of Mandarin focus on San Jose and Mandarin Rd communities but there's so much more to see. Would it be possible to see and tour Crown Pointe, Old St. Augustine Rd, Greenland Rd, Loretto and even back on Marbon Rd and the real estate and communities located off these roads in a future video? I'm working on saving money and hopefully moving back to Mandarin in the near future.

Temp surprised me and when she said it's the largest city but those drives I'm confused about I measure by how long it takes me to get from most North point to south point or east to west. Boston is like a 30 min ride end to end in good traffic and I feel like we are a small city compared to LA chi NY etc

Hi Devan, we are much smaller in population compared to those major cities, but Jacksonville’s footprint is larger. Within the city limits of Jacksonville is the largest acreage in the US with Jacksonville city limits spanning all the way from Jacksonville beach past 295 on the west side.

How do you feel about Julington Creek? Is it similar to Mandarin?
@LivinginNortheastFlorida
@LivinginNortheastFlorida 2 жыл бұрын
It is quite similar, but still a few differences. Julington creek is in St Johns county with the best school district in Florida whereas Mandarin is in Duval. The old Oak trees covered in Spanish moss that canopy over the streets of Mandarin is not found anywhere else in North Florida.. Julington creek has a massive community called Julington Creek Plantation whereas Mandarin is made up of a plethora of smaller neighborhoods. I’d love to explain further!
