Race engine with vanos? No need for vanos when you wanna race. Absolut bullshit to keep the vanos. Nothing to see her. Just a guy with money and no dyno run. Many people ask for it but all they get is "i have more S50B32 and i have... i have.... i have" .... but what you don't have is a dyno run to prove your work.

Hey Mike, did you sell the car ? Thanks
@mikeymike6017
@mikeymike6017 2 жыл бұрын
I didn’t sell Alex. I moved to Japan 18 months or so ago, and wasn’t sure if I could keep the car or not, so she’s still in storage back in the U.K. I don’t know if the car will be able to pass it’s first inspection to get road legal in Japan or not. So I’ve been debating what to do. She’s in storage alongside my e36 Evo saloon. The saloon I’m sure I can ship to Japan and get ‘road legal’. The initial inspection here is really strict though.

@@mikeymike6017 says who? You need a lot to do to get 370 from a S50B32.... So you put 8-9k in that engine but you did not make a dyno run to SEE your results???????
@mikeymike6017
@mikeymike6017 2 жыл бұрын
@@buyankaratren9822 I understand your point of view, but the biggest power gains with one of these, is with a big airbox. I said '360-370', with the 360 figure being quite easy to hit. The rest is all incremental gains. The power expectations I have, are quite reasonable. And as yet, the car remains 'un-dynoed', as two years ago I moved to Japan, and my two e36 Evo's are still in storage in the UK until shipping costs become effective for me to ship them out here.

@@mikeymike6017 nah it's not easy to hit 360. With this statment you're showing that you unterstand nothing about the S50B32. This engine is very difficult to build up. 80 % of the engines doesn't even hit their 321 BHP from factory. All of them are about 300 to 310 BHP. If you wanna hit 350 or 360 you need cams, exhaust, airbox, Alpha/N mapping. And the engine must be 100%. Then in the end it's about a good mapping job. All done perfectly then you have at max 360. 370 is a dream. Please don't go in the internet pretending you are the man with the S50B32 engines.

The engine was out of one of the North American ALMS ‘PTG’ (Prototype Technology Group) e46 GTR’s. I believe BMW and PTG built 6 of them back in the day, and they were run with P50B32’s (BMW Motorsport version of S50B32). Some of the cars later got the engines changed for V8’s which caused an outrage from Porsche, as they claimed it was breaking the rules. Anyway, one of the cars came to the U.K. and was run in the Britcar 24hr by Strakka Racing. This engine was built Duller Motorsport (BMW Motorsport Austria) for that car.

KXF MX hahaha... thank you! Many people think I’m crazy, but I actually believe the S50B32 has some good points! Whilst an S54 will in theory make more power in standard mechanical form, I believe the valve train to be more intricate and susceptible to wear compared to S50. I also feel that the S50 rod bearings being 2mm wider, will wear less, and also that the S50 doesn’t suffer head gasket failure. Just my ‘thoughts’ though.
