“When I used to go out, I would know everyone that I saw. Now I go out alone, if I go out at all” means more and more to me the older I get.

Imagine how they felt in rehearsals when they ended up with this. Somebody wrote above in the comments about all the emmotions in 4 1/2 minutes. You feel it in your bones.

For me, the greatest song ever written. I’m a 54 year old, old dude and this song gets me every time. ‘You’ve gotta nerve…’

This song encapsulates an era more than any other. I can almost taste the can of Red Stripe, the Marlboro lights and feel the sticky dance floor. A fucking epic tune that makes me lust for the past

Another example of a drummer doing so much with so little. Drummers with huge drum kits are becoming extinct. Their solos are boring and amount to showing off.

You've got a nerve to be asking a favor You've got a nerve to be calling my number I know we've been through this before Can't you hear me? I'm calling out your name Can't you see me? I'm pounding on your door You've got a nerve to be asking a favor You've got a nerve to be calling my number Can't you hear me? I'm bleeding on the wall Can't you see me? I'm pounding on your door Can't you hear me when I'm calling out your name? When I used to go out, I would know everyone that I saw Now I go out alone if I go out at all When I used to go out I'd know everyone I saw Now I go out alone if I go out at all When I used to go out I'd know everyone I saw Now I go out alone if I go out at all You've got a nerve to be asking a favor You've got a nerve to be calling my number I'm sure we've been through this before Can't you hear me? I'm beating on your wall Can't you see me? I'm pounding on your door

I was thinking today about how popular I was in my 20s, compared to how unpopular I am today 😂 I used to say what I thought, and took a lot of risks. Which is very entertaining for a while, and people gravitate towards you - but over time the mistakes add up, and eventually the same people just remember you for the mistakes.
@RobertWalterweldon5 ай бұрын
Chris I gotta tell you I've lived a completly opposite life as you. However this is only in the arena of being unpopular in my 20s and a nobody till I got to my 40's when things all changed. Became popular as hell, financially sound and single all the people i know became the people i once knew . I took a ton of risks then after leading rhe safe and sane upbringing and young adulthood. So indeed many mistakes have been made since I turned 40 and now at ehw age of 55 I'm constsntly reminded of those mistakes and left wondering if it's gonna be my legacy. Random song took my to your comment which hit me. We have come on different horses from opposite ends of rhe earth but find the world we live in still produces the same results
@chrisjames63273 ай бұрын
@@RobertWalterweldon Thanks for this. When you live your life like a tornado, you will inevitably trample over some people. But the spectacle of the whirlwind keeps people gravitating towards you. But then the tornado slows down, and eventually stops - and all that is left is the carnage😂 In all seriousness though, jealously does also comes into play, in a major way. Most of my friends have lived very dull lives. I do think they have always resented how I lived.
