Shouldn’t be swinging up on the ball. More neutral weight distribution and less tilt

What is the suggested ball position for a 40 yard pitch shot and what club do you recommend to use? I'm using a 52*wedge with 12* of bounce and usually blade it across the green especially on tight lies.

“Keep that left arm across the chest” I’ve watched countless videos on swing tips but something about those words just clicked in my head. Couple practice swings with that thought and I can already feel like I’m no longer coming in steep. Can’t wait to try it on the range.
