Speaking of bunk areas, you should review a Jayco Jay Flight 280BHK

I would say yes, but winter could be challenging depending where your Year Round location is.

Nice trailer and review! So, this is the EXACT same layout as the Vintage Cruiser (and Vista Cruiser) 19ERD, but about 1000 pounds heavier?? I wonder why so heavy? BTW: We were in Minneapolis on a little road-trip a month ago, and stopped at Markquart RV on the way out of town (in Ramsey MN, less than 20 minutes out of the city) and Ryan McFarland gave great tours of a bunch of trailers, including various floorplans of Vintage Cruisers. I'm 6'5" and had the same experience with the shower bubble as you -- workable, but tight. Ryan had new Vista Cruiser 19ERDs at U$27k and used for $10k less. While this Explorer is a nice unit, it would have to be priced a lot lower to justify the additional pounds, at least for me. Any chance your weights were off?
@TallMansRVReviewsКүн бұрын
We read the weights right from the sticker posted on the RV, so they are supposed to be exact.
@GenderSkins2 күн бұрын
Definitely a junky little trailer! There is no way that is going to be functional for anything other than a one person RV or hunting cabin. As it is too small to be practical for anyone over 6 foot tall. To be honest I have seen jail cells with more space than that thing.

Thanks for the videos. What is your favorite, smallish RV built for off road and all weather that fits tall people in the bathroom and bed?
@TallMansRVReviews2 күн бұрын
Good Question. I have not found one yet for Tall People. In the end, something has to give and when its a "Tiny Travel Trailer". Height and bathrooms seem to be what "Gives".

I like this, but the radius shower would be a source of frustration to me, as well as the exposed dump valves that make this a 3 season camper.
@TallMansRVReviews2 күн бұрын
Not a fan of the corner shower either.
@Erin-Thor2 күн бұрын
@ - Radius showers work, but the long term or frequent use would bug the tar outta me. LOL! The only radius shower that was near perfect was in a 30’ airstream because it went back almost 3.5 feet. I’m guessing it was 30” x 40”?
@SeanMather4 күн бұрын
I’m 6’2” and I want the smallest thing that’s practical for us. Love this floor plan, wish there was a tiny bit more toilet space and just a hair taller, but what really sucks about it is the tiny cargo capacity. It’s basically useless at 500 pounds. it’s so close but that takes it off the list for me.
@TallMansRVReviews2 күн бұрын
If it was perfect inside, you could always change out the axel to a more beefy one which would give you more cargo carrying capacity. Most RV Manufactures put bare minimum.

Wife and I just picked one of these up for $19,000 + tax fee’s and extended warranty 7.99% apr. it’s the 2025 149 sport with the 6” lift, Offroad tires. with an awning, 200W solar and powered front jack. I’m 5’7” and she’s 5’0”. I think it will work out pretty well for us, and the ACTUAL weight is 2260 dry according to mine.

I like the wrap around area. My camps would be me and two kids, and this would work well for my setup. It would also be nice for entertaining a small group with some tents outside, and come inside it weather is bad. Someone with a lot of wants and needs probably wouldn't be choosing this, but for someone who just needs a roof over their heads, it would be good. May even be good for festivals for people to pop in and out during the day and just need a place to sleep and use the bathroom.
@bempey9 күн бұрын
Nice review! This is the trailer that I aspire to. My MXT-20 carries motorcycles and stuff with an identical ramp, but on the rear, beside the bathroom, and cargo goes where other trailers have bunk beds. But its not very roomy inside. This trailer was the 230-URS, but became the 240URS about a dozen years ago when they updated the interior timmings (fabrics, flooring, curtains, valences, cabinet colours, etc.) plus switched outside trim (awning, window and door frames, fender skirts, valence, etc) from beige/tan to black. But the layout is identical, as are dimensions. I'm 6'5", and the Outbacks came with either Queen or King beds, depending on year and model, giving some decent space to sleep. Oh, you didn't mention that the couch is a "jack-knife" bed, so with 2 in the slide, 2 in the dinette, 2 on the couch ??, and one in each bunk, it sleeps 8. however, marketing claims 9 "bums in beds", so maybe that lower bunk, of slightly wider girth, is supposed to sleep 2 ??
@j.andrewwrinkle21729 күн бұрын
When you’re still using carpet in your slides, you’re still living in the 80s. The layout is very compartmentalized making for a very large fifth wheel feel incredibly small in its interior. Different strokes for different folks.

I came in this video late; I have my eyes on this line up. But was hoping to catch 19TWD “twin bed model” and the 23TWD.. these are light TT’s with great aerodynamics. Which so many are forgetting to make their smaller TT’s aerodynamics which makes a difference above 35 mph. Every couple of mpg’s I can save $ helps.. Vista cruiser has a low center of gravity.

Wife and I bought this trailer, the 2024 edition, early in 2024 and have camped in it many times. We are 5 ft 11 in and 5 ft 8 in tall, so the interior height is no problem for us. Wildly full featured for such a tiny camper. Has everything we need, and can be pulled easily with our small SUV. With a good single battery, you can go two full days boondocking. If you used the fridge as an icebox you could probably boondock for up to a week. Lots of thoughtful touches throughout, with very good QC, especially for a trailer this inexpensive (16-17k)

Overall, I think they are nice, however, why did they use obvious Lippert components such as the spring shackles, axles and pin box? The frame is also Lippert so how long will it be before they start having frame flex? Even Jayco uses Mor Ryde pin boxes and Dexter axles with self adjusting brakes.
@TallMansRVReviews21 күн бұрын
They build their own frames, but I cannot speak about the parts they use.

In your opinion, could this be safely towed with a 2023 Ram 1500 HEMI? I understand upgrading to a 3/4 ton would be best, but would prefer not to. We currently tow an Escape Industries 5.0TA fifth wheel

Very nice rig, but this kind of big rig is not in my wheelhouse. I favor smaller rigs for more flexibility in where we can go. As for things like drawers under the bed - I like that if there is enough large-area storage in other places. Each trailer needs a bit of larger storage areas for some of the things that just can't be squeezed into small spaces. I do like just how many features they worked into the living area. That's often a weakness of toy haulers and this one doesn't feel like you're giving up anything there.
