Community safety and well being? That is not something that is present especially in the Downtown core. Junkies, criminals, degenerates and the likes litter the streets like trash and there are deaths happening all the time that never get reported. As long as any suspect remains at large, how can you possibly assure the publics safety!?

Given the factors this officer speaks to, why aren't we addressing those fundamental issues through accessible supports? The city of Barrie apparently doesn't have the resources for mental health services, affordable housing, addressing food insecurity, or providing treatment options for drug use. Meanwhile in the conversation about defunding the bloated police budge that grows by millions every year, citizens of Barrie were told that the single biggest cost was police salary and we coudln't possible spare any officers. However this copaganda is a fluff piece and that money should be allocated to not just talking about these issue but providing meaningful resources. This is akin to "hey kids, lets talk about trauma in general and then send you home to your traumatic home with no actaul solutions".
