Why does it go warm then cold without turning it off? It will be warm, then suddenly cold.

If you don’t have enough water flowing, it will shut off the burner. If you have a flow restrictor in your shower head, you might have to remove it to get more water moving.

Are you saying your router auto selects between carriers? I just called them and they told me I would have to call them to have their support staff change carriers. Which would not work for me traveling around the country...I'm confused! Thanks

As it was explained to me, the unit automatically picks the strongest signall. I’ve never called to have it manually switched. In different locations, the carrier has been different as shown on a speed test.

At first, we had a 2021 Ram 1500 with 5.7 Hemi and Etorque. It had enough power but was maxed on GCVW and we could feel it. Now we pull with a 2023 Ram 2500 with 6.7 Cummins. Awesome!!!

I know there are different models of the modem out there. Mine is a 5G model from January 2024. I’ll double check but I’m pretty certain it has 2 WiFi and 6 cellular of which some are 4 G and some are 5G. The important thing to us is that it has worked very well and we like it.

So I ran a speed test here in my yard. The speeds will vary depending on which network it chooses as strongest at any one location and time. Currently, it is using Verizon and downloading at 38.8 mbps and uploading at 24.7 mbps. In comparison, my high speed cable through Xfinity is currently testing at 32.8 down and 30.7 up.

Question about your 12 v fridge. Is it load like ours? Brought our 2024 267rbss home and found fridge can be loud. Other rv we owned 12 volt fridge not as loud as this one. Maybe because larger? Just curious

Yes, the compressor is a bit noisy. It works much better than the absorption systems in the 2 and 3 way refrigerators though. Our freezer is usually at 0 degrees within an hour of turning it on. The old type could take 8 hours to get there.

I’d put the battery inside ( it makes no noise) and the inverter outside so I wouldn’t have to hear it).
@MitchellOutfitters
@MitchellOutfitters 5 ай бұрын
Good points. I thought of moving the battery inside but I’d still have to heat it or remove it in cold weather storage. So far, this solution has worked well and doesn’t sacrifice interior space. As for the inverter, I wanted to ensure plenty of air for cooling and I don’t want to use it more than we have to due to battery drain. The noise is a deterrent for my significant other to not want it on longer than necessary, lol. I appreciate your feedback and don’t disagree with you.

We pull about 800 pounds less than you do. We had a F150 2.7 Ecoboost and it pulled great. Because of the mileage we put on it we upgraded to a 2023 F250 diesel. It is more truck than we need right now but we will be ready if we go bigger. We get better mpg (14 to 15.5 average) towing but we absolutely love the range with the bigger 34 gallon tank.

A ~3500kg tow vehicle with a ~2800kg caravan? Enormous, a ~6300kg outfit, using a 5.7 litre 4x4 pickup petrol with automatic box? No wonder you only managed 7.8 mpg (imperial), that is absolutely unbelievable. In comparison my 1610kg (~3550lb) 2.0 litre turbodiesel front wheel drive estate (station wagon) with 6 speed manual gearbox, tows a 1685kg (~3700lb) twin axle caravan, a relatively nimble 3295kg (~7265lb) outfit, and returns ~48 mpg (USgal). You max tow is ~81% of the tow vehicle? Wow, the Toyota max tow is ~86% of the tow vehicle. But fuel costs? Jeez, £811.69 for US Gas, versus $512.16 for UK Diesel for 2513.5 miles? How can you afford that fuel cost? I think you need a British outfit over there, my 2018 Toyota Avensis Business Estate combined with my 2008 Swift Ace Celebration 620 would walk all over you on performance.

We have had a 2019 RAM 1500 and a 2021 RAM 1500 with e-torque towing similar size and weight trailer as you, and got very similar mileage as you are getting. We now have a 2023 RAM 2500 with the 6.7 Cummins turbo diesel and the mileage with that same trailer is over 12 mpg. The more noticeable difference is in the much greater torque and engine/exhaust braking with the diesel. The Cummins engine will cost you about $10K more than the gas model, so consider how long you plan on keeping the truck. Resale value will be much better with the 6.7 Cummins vs gas.

Nice. I got a ram 1500 with the 5.7 etorque too. It does pretty good. If I were towing a lot, I'd probably go for the bigger truck with the diesel as well. Better fuel economy, more torque, better for downhill grades. My dad always suggested that if he was towing alot with a 1500, he would get the transmission flushed because sometimes the fluid takes a beating, gets scorched if the transmission is working hard and getting hot.

If you are planning on upgrading your truck but keeping the same trailer, or one of similar weight,, you may want to consider a gasser. Sounds like you are maxed out on your 1500, so good idea to go 3/4 or 1 ton. Always better to have more truck than needed. I've got a 2022 GMC 2500 with the L8T 6.6 gas. And it's been great. My trailer is a 5th wheel which weighs right at 13k as towed, truck + trailer was 20k on a CAT scale. I must say, I've been tempted to go diesel, mainly for peace of mind downhill. I go over the Sierra nevada mountains often and the grades ares steep. However, my L8T has treated me well. All that said, you know what is best for you. Good luck.
