My husband has declared this our song. We were introduced to the world at our wedding with it playing and did our first dance to it. What a great moment we shared!

RL's lyrics turned me on to MS Hill County Blues. I heard "She asked me why... I just went on and told her" I had to hear more. Found out a friend from Oxford knew him. Small world

The more "rl burnside" got older the more his music changed and slowly slipped towards a kind of blues that did not yet exist

There's a much better version of this, a lot simpler and more raw, with RLB playing his guitar. It's hypnotic... don't see it at KZbin, discovered it on a blues mix album at spotify

@Scary Hobo It's on the Old Grey Whistle Test Blues Album on Amazon www.amazon.co.uk/Old-Grey-Whistle-Test-Blues/dp/B005KGGK9O. It sounds like a live session recording, no overdubs, very good. The album's on Spotify which is handy, as this is by far the best track on it.
