Never heard of her. At all. Until the other day watching MST3k and they made a reference to her.

The interviewer is woeful, no natural sort of conversational flow at all with her - almost just rigidly sticking to her list of questions.

The Real Ramona is one of the best albums of all time. Amazing. My first Throwing Muses album was Hunkpapa. I was a college DJ, very briefly, and introduced many of my friends to her brilliant band. Saw them at First Avenue in 1993, I think. She is an original, genuine, human being. Not a cliche - she is thoughtful, reflective; has substance aka an “introvert”.

Shirley as a pop musician seems to have gotten a better interviewer the L7's Donita, who could not even believe how out of touch her interviewer was. Either that or Shirley kissed the blarney stone. sfp

Are all of these interviewers of rock players.. whether it be grunge, punk, alt, etc (read: out of the box music people) boring and just plain brain dead? sfp

Tina Turner, known as the "Queen of Rock 'n' Roll", rose to prominence as the lead singer of the husband-wife duo Ike & Tina Turner before launching a successful career as a solo performer. She found success in the rhythm-and-blues, soul, and rock genres in a career that spanned five decades.
