I was visiting family in Churhfield when one of our next door neighbours sons came in with glass in his hands, my aunty cleaned him up as best she could and asked me to take him to the North Infirmary. The boy had slid down the rubble tips opposite the parish hall. We all called them 'the heights'. In the infimary a nurse attended to him and asked what had happened, 'I fell from a height' was his reply. 'Yes but what did you fall off' she asked, 'A height' he insisted. This went back and forth a few times with each getting more and nore frustrated with the others ability to understand. So I poked my head around the curtain and explained to her what he meant. As some have said the attention was quick, friendly and good. what more could you want.

Talk of the old cinemas brings back lots of memories, the Capitol, and mini with the big kissing seats-which I never got to use regretfully, the Lee, the Palace, there was a place in Blackpool here yo got in with jam jars called the Lilo, later ironically a camping shop. Just some more memories of our amazing home.

No waiting times back then. Times when you could go to doctor and that day get a bed. Also doctors used to do house calls 24/7 so A@Es were NEVER under pressure.. And the Exern across the road (now apartments) was great if you needed stitches, physio etc etc. Now 2022 health services is crumbling big time. Very sad.

Fantastic video. I'm Welsh, born and bred, but lived and worked nr. Blackpool for 5 years between 2011 & 2016. Great to hear the lovely local accent again and also see so many places that became familiar to me during my time there.

It's a pity what the developers have done, they could have built the events centre sympathetic to the original building, it looks like it's swallowed up inside huge blocks of buildings, horrible 😑

I have a copy of the Cork Echo from 1972 and there was a picture and story about a David Broome?, It says he was the managing director, but you hadn't a single photo of him or him with anyone else, now why is that?

Phelim O'Leary's dad had a hand in creating or updating Carling Black Label and we started drinking it sometime in the 1970s(?). Really really strong. Two were enough to knock you back on your heels, lol.

I wish my Dad could have seen this.. He would be so honored & amazed by the journey his art form has taken, seeing his pics posted on a worldwide 'screen' & viewed by people the world over". We lost him in '96, yet 16 years on, along comes the CNFP who takes a fraction of his work and with it, takes us on a trip down memory lane, bringing him back close to me & reminding me not just of who I came from but also from where.. 'beautiful city, charming & pretty, beautiful city, my home by the Lee' !
