With running water and living plants, this may be the best elephant enclosure I've ever seen at a zoo. Big, intelligent fellas need lots of space and enrichment. The elephants I saw as a kid were always so sad. This lovely pachyderm looks content. They really are marvels of nature. To be respected and cherished, always.

I'm so happy for Lava and Tyke. 😍 I used to watch them everyday on the Webcams at the Wolf Conservation Center. They had lost their pups the previous two years. I was sad to see them go but I do believe they are much better at the St-Louis Zoo. Beautiful family ❤️❤️❤️

@@lilzilch Human expansion caused them to have no place to live. They are not willing to live in a house that already exists, they've got to destroy everything beautiful so they can one up their neighbors.
