Love everything about this film. First, hats off to one of my favorite filmmakers, Danny. Second, thank you Sydney for sharing your life with us. I watched every one of your races in the Paris Olympics. Your journey is inspiring. Third and lastly, special nod to your hubby. Looks like a good balance of nutrients on her diet (I like it!). She is definitely getting the potassium and magnesium she needs. That is quite a departure however from the Olympic Gold Medalist diet for swimmers. I researched Johnny Weissmuller's diet at the library 40 years ago. He competed in the 1924 Paris Olympics where he won several Gold Medals and held World Records. Weissmuller played TARZAN too on the Silver Screen. Want to know what he ate at each meal? He ate 1 pound of bacon (3000 calories), 1 dozen large eggs (1000 calories), and a loaf of bread (probably buttered toast, I am guessing). That's more than 12,000 calories per day at 3 meals daily. Michael Phelps said he ate 12,000 calories per day when training. DID YOU KNOW? that pig lard has shown to reduce the risk of stroke in humans and has valuable anti-Inflammatory properties. Joan of Arc used pig lard to dress the archer's arrow wound to her heart and cleansed the wound with olive oil. FYI, Joan of Arc was the fastest runner known to man in her day (15th century France). Her feet did not touch the ground according to eyewitnesses she ran so fast. Famous Joan of Arc quote: "All battles are first won or lost in the mind". Another great quote of hers is "Act, and God will act.". Those who sit around waiting for God to do something for them are not going to see miracles. We must act and and then God will act on our behalf as we act first.
