Didn't 1998 900FE engines have internal oil passages? This one has external oil lines on the cylinders like pre-97 SS units. Might be a good idea to have a chat with the exporter back in Japan.
@Classicandrare8 күн бұрын
The 1998 FE was Ducati's tribute to the carburettor era and hence used the earlier engine with external oil lines. 1997 introduced the injected engine with internal oil feeds and new styling. We always confirm specifications on the vehicles we source. After over 40 years of importing/exporting motorcycles and cars you always do your due diligence!

I did some research and it would appear that you are correct. Although so am I. In Ducati's infinite wisdom, they built the Euro/World version with the older external oil line pre 97 engine, and the North American version with the new internal oil passage engine with V2 heads and the hotter FI cams - I guess the parts bin ran dry by the time we started to whine about not getting the FE here in North America, so they decided to give us a FrankenDuc - basically a fuel injected engine with carbs. Same crappy cv carbs though...

I wish we could find these old bikes here in the states, unfortunately 2 stroke road bikes are almost non existent here and the few Yamaha RZ's you can find are either crazy expensive or just a box of parts. I would love an old Honda NSR or Suzuki RZV 250 or 500. Thanks for sharing 🤘😎🏍
Boa tarde, qual o modelo da bateria ou as dimensões. Obrigado

Ah, how to fairly respond to such an iconic design? Unsaid here is that the design is built on the foundation of the Aprilia Pegaso with a well-proven 5-valve liquid-cooled Rotax engine and quite classy components - e.g. Marzocchi suspension fore and aft - such that this trather 'exclusive' motorcycle was underwritten by the success of a more 'populist' machine. Clearly motorcycle marketing hangs heavily on the 'looks' of the product and this one was a big gamble for Aprilia - a winner in artistic expression but a failure in the marketplace. I think few would choose it as their daily ride (may I suggest it might suit a ballet choreographer, an advertising copywriter, an associate professor of philosophy or a sensitive-natured country pastor?) but oh! what a head-turner when you take it out with the road and the cafe as your mobile gallery. I ache to own one but my motorcycles must serve as work-horses and this assuredly is a show pony. I think it is gorgeous and a classic in the history of motorcycling design. And yes the Aprilia Moto 6.5 was one of 100 motorcycles spanning 100 years exhibited in New York's Guggenheim Museum exhibition in 1998: The Art of the Motorcycle. You could buy it and proudly hang it on the wall.

Los ingleses tenían algo muy parecido en 1944, eran para los paracaidistas y tenían exactamente esa forma para ser lanzadas dentro de un cajón en paracaidistas, y por cierto eran más lindas y seguro más resistentes

I bought one new it the biggest bag of sh...t ever hit the road paid thousands for it sold it for £750 and glad to get it .... really bad bike .. After I bought it their real problems with combustion Aprilla had it back many times and then washed their hands of it ... I had to take it to a racing bike rolling road and got it sorted but when the temp dropped it still played up ... general opinion was it should have had fuel injection .... SORRY TO A KILLJOY this is a collectors bike ..Bought a CB 500 to replace it ,and kept it 10 years and it never let me down
