How to put adverb with do verb (do , does, did) in mid position? And can you tell me which one is correct and why ? I really did miss you or I did really miss you ? And will there be a problem if I use both ? Are both of them correct?
@abclearningenglishsolution102816 күн бұрын
Friend thank you very much for your question. I must try to answer you. If there is only one adverb, place it before the verb, adjective or the adverb which it modifies. E.g . He doesn't really love you. If you want to use the word to emphasize other word, place it before the word that you want to emphasize. This emphasis will be specific. I did miss you. In this sentence did is used to emphasize the word miss. I really did miss you means double emphasis. It is not superfluous. We may use it. I did really miss you. In this sentence really is adverb of manner. It is also correct sentence. If you can replace the word really by very or truly it is obviously adverb of manner. Friend I think you are satisfied with the answer. Thank you once again.

Does is the singular verb. Do is plural. Oil and water ( two separate things) . So we should use plural verb with it.

Thank you sir for explaining in detail 👍👍👍🙏🙏🙏 None but the head teacher could have solved that issue in a proper way. Nothing but the policy can have a better response to the problem. None but my father did the task effectively. Nothing but the books bring us happiness in our lives. None but the people of this district will have a good communication skills. Are these sentences correct sir 🙏🙏🙏 from Kathmandu Nepal.
