I've heard the recorded version many times, and love seeing it performed live.

The love of my life took me to one of Glass' concerts, and I cried during the pieces that he played. Magnificent music! Ya either love it or hate it.

40 years on, and it still scratches an itch no one else can. Probably the one true genius out of the "minimalist" crowd of the 70s-80s. (yes, among other truly excellent composers imho) His stuff just freakin' works.

I saw Glass's Ensemble perform this piece several times in the early 80s. Unforgettable.
