I had the following bikes 2004F650Gs,2007R1200Gs,2016 R1200RT. I amnow riding a 23 year R1150 R. And thru thinking about what I needed the bike to do, As one of the fellows said. This $5,000 CDN bike will do the same thing as a 1250 which will cost 4 times as much. At 70 i now carry less weight , less luggage, less Financial burden. The kike does not even have a gas gauge, a gear indicator ,abs. Nothing. You and the machine like 50 years ago when i found out a simple motorcycle, a sleeping bad could take me as far as i wanted to go. And then these old reliable bike...they do win your affection.Everytiume they start, they remind uou how loyal they are and how eager they are to be with you and take you anywhere.

How about the 1100 GS. I've had a 1100gs 1150gs. 1200gsa 06. And now I own another 1200gsa 56 reg with 21k miles. I'm not keen on the newer ones.

Liked the video, as I own a XJR 1300 RP02 myself including the Laser exhaust. The wrong statements about the FJR were already mentioned above, so I wouldn’t repeat. Only thing, I didn’t like was the constant background music, not needed for me.

Who says R1150GS is Gen 1? get your facts right. Gen 1 is R80GS then comes R100, R1100 so this makes R1150 Gen 4.

I loved my 2012 but, no cruise control, a bit heavy and the cost of valve adjustments is ghastly!

Great video! Thanks from a happy owner on Isle of Skye. It’s a great long distance tourer. No cruise control though. It’s not quite as much fun as a ZZR1100 but there’s no chain to worry about and if you use really use the revs on this machine it’s bloody ridiculous 👍😎

The best improvement kawasaki could do is make it easier to work on. Maybe hydraulic valve lifters to eliminate the valve adjustment job…

to add. I would not touch new ones with a barge pole. Way too expensive and complicated. He said it correct. You could buy a 2010-2012 GS twin cam. best one. Then a spare one. Ive got 2 F650GSs. Even buy a track day sports bike. Instead of all your money in one that depreciates.

Had a R1150RT. Bit heavy parking and moving. One on road great. Now got a R1200GSA triple black 2012. Its got to be the best option. Saved up and did my research. Not too heavy or complicated. Plenty fast enough. Loads of spares and accessories available. Only issue is when clutch needs replacing. Big job. But still manageable. You need GS911 diag tool. then self maintain is poss. Bike for life. brilliant engineering. Good video.

Great video. I can relate to these guys. I've had lots of bikes over the years but the C14 has been calling my name ever since first demo riding one 12+ years ago. Loved it from the moment I straddled it and hit the starter button. Rode one every time I got the chance just to do it. Finally got my own this past summer. Currently have two other bikes but no real desire to ride them. Love this thing and would probably part with everything else first. Great bike!

Water wasn't a necessity for technology advancement but necessary to be able to pass future euro emissions standards😢 so they had to be more bulky, heavier and more complicated. I Mean look at the middle one, its a behemoth compared to that 1100 next on its left.

R1150GS for the win. Simply cause of the looks. The newer ones are disgustingly ugly.

It runs for ever, I’ve owned all sorts of bikes,zzz 1400 h2 fire blades bandits trials bikes max bikes , rode my k75 all over Europe with no issues. It just hit 100,000 k and it’s about to do another run Scotland to Estonia , it’s been in use every day the last two years never under a cover or garage, still no corrosion , yes it’s slow by modern standards and won’t do wheelies but it will always get you beyond where you want to go,

@madmick68059 ай бұрын
£2k for a big service!! Now if this is true no one would buy one. Taking the wiring harness out? Am I missing something? Soon as the lad said that I punch into google servicing costs and while still a lot more than dropping your own oil and being bike savvy to save money plus know your bike has been done and not just a box tick it was still in the same ball park as other rip off services £350 to £900 on a big 30'000 mile service. Can anyone shed light on the comment from the video?
@Enzo2005007 ай бұрын
Basically, he does not know what he’s talking about. Not one service on the ZZR1400 involves taking out the wiring harness! Shame they did not interview someone who actually knows about these bikes? The main service is valve clearances at 26k miles. It ranges from £450-550, depending where you are in the country. I’m on my second one this week for customers!
