Ok I have a weird ritual with this film. I play it every year while I'm decorating my christmas tree 🤣 The beginning with the pirates is sloow so it's perfect for unpacking everything, and then I just go on and have fun, a bit of decorating, a bit of just standing there and watching some scenes 😆 And I'm usually done by the time 'Christmas in heaven' song begins so that's perfect! It happened by accident one year and now I just keep doing it, probably been 9th year this year. Btw huuge fan of your p&p edit, thanks so much for sharing it with us all, I watch it whenever I need a pickup and a laugh and don't have two hours for the film 😆

In this movie, the primary siblings pair represented the lovers opposite. Darcy and Lizzy were both protectors. It is interesting that Darcy assumed the shy behavior he observed from Jane was disinterest and indifference, in the same way Lizzy saw Darcy's shy behavior. Darcy: shy | quick to judge Georgiana: sociable | assumes the best in others Lizzy: sociable | quick to judge Jane: shy | assumes the best in others In terms of "love language", I feel Mr. Darcy shows his love with acts of service and learning to be more sociable was one of his assignments here.
