Narcissists eventually get to the point that the attention they had dies down, and the need to be seen and heard becomes overwhelming. You don't have to be seen or influential 24/7...it's too much. This is a dose of a healthy mindset. "I have enough. I've done enough. I am enough." Jim Carey.

So David Lynch is fine with shooting film in Digital but is not fine with people watching films on an IPhone? Get real, David.

"Laura Dern like family to me", then "hadn't seen her for a long time" and saw her walking down the street. The meta is: so LA transactional relationships, that place is like nowhere else on earth, and not in a good way for healthy human interactions.

David do you feel the same way about that camera as I do about Amish women. I'll never date another Amish woman. I could never go back. Once you go Mennonite you could never go back. At least they return your phone calls.

It is not about film vs digital. It is about shooting interlaced vs shooting progressive, in particular 24p. The DVX100 was released in October 2002. David Lynch shot Inland Empire in 2006. Why did he shoot interlaced with PD150 instead of shooting 24p with the DVX? Oh, right, because he fell in love with the PD150.

When the Canon 5D Mark II came out, I jumped on it, and remember I was trying to shoot with it before I really knew it. This was before the 3rd party software upgrades for 24 fps and audio control. But after a year with it, I made a film with it. I was very sensitive to those areas just above real black showing noise, and when I could, I'd shoot a plate of the scene, then layer elements of it over my video in P.S.'s extended animation timeline. It worked perfectly. But for some action scenes with lots of whipping camera, I needed to always hold focus while holding a hand held light (at night) so I shot those with a pocket Canon Elph 310. No one has ever noticed the switch, even in the theater in Eugene Oregon where I showed it in a film festival. That's a screen about 25 feet wide showing pocket camera footage. Yes, the movie displayed about 15% lighter than on my computer, which drove me nuts, but at that point they weren't taking films on drives where you processed them into multiple elements, as all films are now. And I probably would have screwed it up. (I remember that Sony theater projector and it's different settings) It's a short noir. See if you see the difference. On KZbin. (Bum Rap Andre Hunt)
