Hello from Ontario! I like to imagine this was a joyful occasion, but it might be for relief from the bugs.

@@PomereliaWildlife You are probably right about that - I've never seen a moose stand in wind to help with the bugs.

Great song choice! Never heard of them before…moose are such amazing creatures.

For sure ! Gentle giants - I found two moose beds in the snow on the weekend and crouched down inside for a minute or two. What a privilege.

@@wildhearth I am a bit bias! They are a favorite northern animal. They’re loners and live a cruel cold life. I agree, it’s an absolute privilege to see them, lucky you! Thanks for sharing!

I think they aren't bothered by the cold. Their size gives them a bit of status and they can enjoy their solitude. It's too bad for them that they are so tasty.@@guitarsoundsaround

@@wildhearth oh I do believe the deep cold does bother them. Especially the babies. I watched a cow/calf pair at my place one winter, it’s all about survival of the fittest in nature.

I guess you're right about the deep cold. Everything suffers, and some don't make it through.@@guitarsoundsaround

So little pure wilderness is left on this precious planet. I savor each moment I capture of this wildlife. A lone cow moose eating in the water seems timeless. Sadly, it also seems inevitable that this will end. Not in my lifetime though. I will protect it as long as I can.

Is there a story behind this? I haven't went through your videos. But if you're following the animals around you via cameras, may I suggest you take a page out of the book of Robert E Fuller, and compile your takes into longer videos that form a narrative. I know that's a lot of work to edit them and add captions to them, but it makes for nice videos. People can get really invested in the "personal drama" of wild animals. (Greetings from Finland!)

I appreciate your feedback from Finland! My short videos get much more attention than the longer ones. I find that even 4 or 5 minutes is too long to keep people interested. I keep images from areas of my property together in playlists, and people can "play all" if they like. However, I will keep this comment in mind and think about stitching together a longer story.

I can't think of a name right now, but there's something dog-like in his long tail and how he wags it.

I'm guessing that right after hibernation, bears can't digest much more grass. Hunting would be harder too, being weak and groggy. What do you think?

I've answered a lot of questions about this video. It is a comment on the temporary nature of the ordinary. I do not want to take the ordinary for granted! All of these images were captured on Saturday, February 11, 2023. The wind was swirling and it was cold. On this day, I felt rather tired of winter. I thought about the people in Turkey and Syria in the aftermath of the epic earthquake, and I imagined they might just want the ordinary back.🦌
